What?

Phones are already only £15 here in UK and thats with £10 credit included and the phone is pretty good as well (1.3mp cam etc...) So this piece of crap from Vodafone better not enter the UK...

LOL any old Blackberry, SE or Nokia from 2004-05 will pretty much cost the same yet beat these crap phones in available features.

I had purchased an year old RAZR v3i early last year for about $35 off eBay. In December '09, I bought a SE W550 in excellent condition for $16. Why anyone would buy these bricks from Vodafone is beyond me.

...great news!...let's be practical not everyone needs or desires a mega phone such as iPhone, some people, and not just in emerging countires but also in developed countries want a phone for calling...and this device will offer this....and yes, I use a Nokia 6030 and consider trading it for LG PoP...:)

Would have been nice to be a flip or slide phone for like extra $5.

Some people are so techno phobe (aw bless ^_^) that they are not used to locking and unlocking the keypad on a bar phone.

I am not very sure about other countries but I have clear idea for India, these sets will face some good competition even for this price. If I am not wrong, Motorola has very nice looking sets at very very low or should I say affordable prices. By the way, How much China phones cost there in India?

It is not the first mobile worth $15. It is the second! the first is Vergatario multimedia mobile launched few months ago in Venezuela!!! I do not know if vodafone is trying to fool us or it is something to do with the country being unliked by the US and UK?!!!

kelz, 18 Feb 2010no1 will rob u 4 dat phn it should be sold to all the poor countrieslol.... To them Asia is just Chinese and Chinese like people, including Japan, Korea, Phillipines, Malaysia, Singapore etc. Wonder how they got India included in Asia. Probably its more visible and a little far geographically to be in Africa... xD

And about the phones, USD 15 is like INR 700. That is cheap but not the cheapest. There was a 700 buck phone three years back from a carrier. And this will be for Vodafone only. And it looks awful.

They mean this is the cheapest phone because it has the cheapest cost price. Car phone warehouse might have sold the handsets for £2.50, but they cost them alot more to buy. The subsidize them. networks will pay carphone something like £100 commision for a pay as you go sale. if car phone warehouse buy the phones for £25-£30 they still make a pretty penny. This is why phones are network locked and you have to buy topup credit with them!

These are Ideal for purchasing abroad when you go on holiday as hier local sim cards will offer a cheaper call rate.
