already the 5.0 update was 4 months late and i am annoyed with this battery drain issue and lag problem.. 4.4 was running good..i was able to use it without charge for 2 days n there was not much lag...and now on 5.0, i charge my phone twice in a day and facing many issues..
i hope 5.1.1 will be better. waiting badly for it, now i will change to some another brand.

You might push the blame to carriers for your defense, but when you see the exact same slow updates situation with samsning tablets and unlocked phones, you know that samsung is the one to blame first.
I repeat, other oems, with much lower sales, are doing a much better job than samsung at updating their phones and tablets to the latest android os.

Look at lg htc and especially sony, they update their devices fa... moreSorry but no that's incorrect, when carriers here in the USA sell devices their responsible for updating them because they build carrier stuff into them. I don't know how much you keep up with current smartphones but international versions always get updates quicker than ones being sold here in the states. So maybe Samsung has a bit to do with it, but it's ultimately the phone carriers obligation to update the devices they're selling.

AT&T updates is probably one of the slowest ever on the entire planet. All their phone ranges received late update. That is why I will never buy a carrier smartphone. Unlocked smartphone is better.

Odd news, Marshmallow is new update ? so this news update is about an update 1 year old, gee's why bother? if you cannot get latest version to your phones within a few months why bother at all, 12 months to apply Lollipop what a waste of time its dead on arrival.
