I think this news comes as clear as it gets, yet still, instead of criticising Apple for the defect in their expensive phone, the blind fanboys try to rationalize and defend Apple even harder. I guess the isheeps logic IS that much different than the rest of the world. :)
BCHLIU, 26 Oct 2015"you're holding the phone wrong" - Steve JobsHahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!
TheNeighbor, 26 Oct 2015This test results should be part of phone reviews. I know people with the iPhone 5 complaining... moreYes, I totally agree, GSMArena, please start adding antenna tests to your reviews of phones. (2g and 3g)
AnonD-403626, 26 Oct 2015There is one problem with the good Dr's test.. GSMArena please read this. He got it backwards.... moreI surely hope that isn't true, or just that you didn't actually read the article.
Yes, the signal is stronger closer to zero, however he is testing how weak a signal the phone is able to pick up...so the phone that can pick up the weakest signal is the one with the best antenna....get it now?
Another thing to remember he is only testing 2g, not 3g, as some of those that went to their phone to look at the signal strenght, is looking at.
Cheers and next time read the article before playing smart. :)
TheNeighbor, 26 Oct 2015This test results should be part of phone reviews. I know people with the iPhone 5 complaining... moreS4 samsung does not carry sound in phone calls an is silent WHEN internal free storage is less than 600 MB .... BIG FAIL
This test results should be part of phone reviews. I know people with the iPhone 5 complaining of its bad battery and reception being cut. Meanwhile, the S5 being ridiculed as being "cheap" design has way better signal reception and a whole lot more features.
Substance over looks, people... Plastic backs will not be a problem for antennas located at the rear. And now Samsung is trying to sell things like metal or fragile glass backs (yeah, some people like gospels all over, and like the idea of it likely to shatter upon impact). Wrong way just to please people to say their phone's rear is "premium".
Here's the explanation of how you should interpret the dBm results and why the iPhone scores are indeed indicating worse reception:
Isn't the closer to the zero value represents better network?
Ex: -90>-91, hence -90 represents better network than -91.
AnonD-308243, 26 Oct 2015in all fairness a cellphone is a cheep means of communication doesn't matter on the brand or m... moreIf you really were what you claim to have been, you would have realized by now that the professor did an antenna pick up test, which tests the minimum signal strength that an antenna can pick up. Thus the iPhone score means that it requires a much stronger signal to be able to pick it up than the top scoring phones like the Z and S6. In other words, the iPhone antenna is amongst the lowest performers when it comes to picking up weaker signals, thus you're more likely to be stuck with a bad reception, loss of reception or no reception compared to most other phones.
iudbus, 26 Oct 2015Frankly speaking I agree with all the persons who explain that the scale looks not correct in ... moreI was reading an article, the closer to 0, the better reception. I actually get great reception on my 6s. The only two manufactures I have had with great reception were iPhones and Motorola. I haven't used nokia long right but The ones I owned were good. The rest really have been terrible. I checked the signal strength on my 6s right now and it was at -97db and its at 4 bars.
Typhoon, 26 Oct 2015LOL funny how every time an Iphone article gets released Android users come out in droves to f... moreLOL, you're wrong. You prefer to think this way since it makes iPhones issues less painful. But that won't make them go away, LOL.
Typhoon, 26 Oct 2015LOL funny how every time an Iphone article gets released Android users come out in droves to f... moreI find it funnier when ignorant people think they are buying something with newest technology and paying premium prices when really they fell victim to really good marketing. And those same people think that other people are jealous when they already have been using them for a good while. Those same ignorant people seem to come to articles like this and try to ignore the problems of their favourite brand devices.
Oh, don't get me wrong, these people exist in every fan-camp. What camp are you in?
LOL funny how every time an Iphone article gets released Android users come out in droves to feed their legacy as jealous ihaters..haha..
[deleted post]True, he should have given a bit more information on how the tests are conducted, lot of loose ends otherwise.
lol, 26 Oct 2015How do you know this? It isn't in the article.I'm sure no professor would start the test without figuring that out... I'm not a professor and I understand. Don't even reach for the straws.
