I found this online today
HTC takes a jab at Apple in HTC One A9 commercial. Cool actually. Nice to see a bit of banter 

You tube Commercial: https://youtu.be/8IkS1oXvhVM

The HTC One A9 may look nearly identical the Apple iPhone 6, but HTC seems to think it’s the perfect alternative for those who love the looks of the iPhone but the freedom offered by Android.

This message is in plain view in the new HTC One A9 commercial, which is now available on YouTube. During the ad, HTC highlights the One A9′s all-metal design, 24-bit Boom Sound audio experience, optical image stabilization and RAW image capture, and the fact that the phone is running Android Marshmallow.

Android fans may dismiss the HTC One A9 as just another iPhone clone, but we know that there are quite a few people who stick with Apple simply because they love the look of its phones.

Whichever way, the A9 is beautiful.

AWW, 28 Oct 2015Thanks. As mush as I like iphone and its sexiness. For the 1k plus price ill pre order a usa A... moreThe thing that most people forget about iPhone is that it's more than just a phone you're buying. There's a whole service layer behind the phone you don't get with anyone else, like Genius Bar and instand replacements, repairs, etc.

On top of that it just beautifully integrates into the other products and services like iPad, Apple TV and iTunes, so the ecosystem is well established and working.

For the 1k plus price ill pre order a usa A9. I do think the specs are decent enough and I want the feel of an iphone in the hand so ticks boxes at the moment. I agree that Oz will be insanely expensive for phones, though ... Cheers

Ripperoo, 27 Oct 2015Australia Iphone 6s Apple Sydney $1200.00- $1500.00+ no one complains HTC A9 $499-$599 ... moreFor a start, it won't be that cheap in Australia, more like $800-900, in which case you're better off just investing in an iPhone. iPhone's resale value is one of the best too.

Secondly, read what HTC say about themselves for this model, and then tell me where their values are:

Design worth imitating. Photos the pros will admire. High-resolution audio.
The smartphone that gets all the important elements right.

"Design worth imitating"? It doesn't get more audacious than that.

        This company has no values.

A9 review. The HTC A9 sings along beautifully. Good balance overall.

So looking forward to getting it when the cast Iron version comes out.

If I want it now and have cash, I'll just go and buy it. If I don't have enough, it doesn't matter what my reasons may be - I won't buy it. Its not a car that saves you time driving around instead of waiting for public transportation. Its not a laptop that helps earn money. Its a high-tech toy, thus it shouldn't be prioritized. You want it and can buy it - just buy it.

Reason being, after 6 months we will be in 2016 and smartphone industry will has undergone significant change.
More features around, new products launch etc.

Btw, GSMA must review this A9 ASAP while it is still hot news although perhaps not in a very positive way.

For $500US? You will be dumb to pay that much for this mid range device

HTC can no longer charge this much like other main players in the market
A9 seems great but it will fail miserably then will be sold for less than $350 off contract
They just don't have enough royal customers to bounce back at this point

Ripperoo, 27 Oct 2015yes true in part perhaps with android. I do like apple but I get so sick of people comparing a... moreYou're missing the point. We don't care about how the A9 compares to an iPhone, we care about how it compares to other Android phones in terms of specifications and price: HTC is being ridiculous. Motorola's Moto X Play is about the same thing with huge battery at 50% of the price of HTC's device...

And even if the A9 really were competition for Apple, wow in the world is the A9 better than the iPhone 6s? I'm no Apple fan but that's too much to read.

"Bigger screen" is a very subjective advantage ; "Bigger battery" does not always translate to anything until actual tests are completed ; "Image stabilization" from a company with a history of sucking big time with their cameras... let's see if Apple's software stabilisation is not actually better.

"More ram" does not mean anything given how Apple manages multitasking, "raw capture" is also a subjective advantage, "Marshmallow" is not technically an advantage compared with the iPhone...

"Efficient chipset" ... so efficient that it can't shoot in 4K (I don't care about 4K, i just mean that Apple's chipset will provide more features).

How is the RF on HTC phones? I have a OnePlus that absolutely sucks in fringe areas and I'm looking for something better. One Plus doesn't get the service on band 4 like my Moto X. My 1st gen Moto X gets pretty damn good reception (US, T-Mobile) almost everywhere.

Oppo R7 Plus is a 6" all metal phone with amoled display, snapdragon 615, 2.5d glass, 3gb ram, 32gb storage EXPANDABLE. 4100mah battery.

Costs less than the HTC One A9. HTC has no excuse for this kind of overpricing.
