Nokia is renowned for overall quality. As is HTC. Not all androids are the same. HTC here is a little higher priced than some androids. For me I prefer that build. When some compare this latest unit to 6s and for the price they charge. there really is no argument no matter how its spun.

AnonD-37228, 27 Oct 2015Majority complains about the iPhone and refuse to buy it, that is why Android is the dominant ... moreyes true in part perhaps with android. I do like apple but I get so sick of people comparing apple to a9 when there isn't a comparison on price and stats for the 6 at least except for force touch. In this particular comparison A9 is better. As much as I adore look and feel of apple it is they who insult price wise. seriously 1.5k for a mid range phone and A9 is 1/3rd that and better. Best of both worlds that unit. for me im looking forward to getting it and seeing what comes beyond with m10 etc.

Ripperoo, 27 Oct 2015Australia Iphone 6s Apple Sydney $1200.00- $1500.00+ no one complains HTC A9 $499-$599 ... moreMajority complains about the iPhone and refuse to buy it, that is why Android is the dominant player. However, if you like IOS, you don't have a choice. In Android, there are so many competitors to choose from, so HTC can't act and compare like Apple, they need to compete against other Android phones.

Even more sad is the fact that HTC doesn't learn. A9 was received with huge amount of negative feedbacks. It was regarding iPhone like design, small battery capacity, ugly looking bezels ( especially bottom one), weaker hardware for Europe etc. But the most negative feedback was about pricing. Knowing all that they still keep their course thinking they know more than potential customers. However history has many many examples when management took companies to disaster. Siemens Mobile, Nokia, Motorola etc. Now Sony is in bad situation. Managers can have all PhD degrees etc, but if they are not passionate about what they are doing and don't feel market and potential customers they are going to fail badly. This is exactly what is going on with HTC A9. Instead of thinking and listening to loyal customers they just keep insulting them with even higher prices. Good like HTC and especially new CEO...

                Australia
Iphone 6s Apple Sydney $1200.00- $1500.00+ no one complains
                HTC A9 $499-$599 - everyone complains - Go figure.

                A9
Bigger screen, Bigger battery, Image stabilization, Easy vid processing
Bigger storage capacity, More ram, Shoots raw, Marshmallow etc.
Efficient chip set, Amoled, Battery save mode and it looks and feels great same as Apple.

                Nuff said.

I really liked that brand, every year I kept telling myself it would be the year I would buy HTC again ...
                    They never convinced.

And I don't want to imagine how many millions they lost by releasing phone after phone within limited periods.

Did I just read "increase"? Wtf! Htc thinks that everyone is eaget to have a HTC phone and its just kind of blackmailing the customers. Its not iPhone or Samsung. Its HTC.HTC fails because of the original price and thereafter you are increasing $100 more? Hahaha...HTC failed.

HTC you are welcome to jack up the price anytime, we consumers do not mind if this is the begining of your end.

What's with that logic???? Thus phone is already overpriced for what it offers now they want $100 more!? Well that's the end of HTC.

Completely ridiculous. No store would want to display this phone anywhere near an iPhone, and not for that price. Anyone with a right mind would question why they look so similar and immediately dismiss HTC for shamelessly imitating a successful competitor.

I have the HTC One X long time ago and I really like it, but everytime HTC launched a new one, it is either too expensive or some faults, like the ultra pixel cameras. I have since have a Nokia 925, Huawei Mate, Samsung Note 3, Lg G2 and LG G Flex 2. It is sad that HTC will likely be non-existence in the near future unless they can come out with a block buster device.

I'm sure resellers will be offering this at a price better than the $500 a few months down the line. The official stores are always higher. The Xperia ZR was a little over $500 on the Sony website, yet resellers were selling it for $125 less. Wait about 6 months after launch, and get that good $400 price again ;-)
