If the minimum requirements for the win mobile 7 is almost like a notebook hardware requirements then why don't they just develop a notebook with an sms and phone call capability much like of a phone.
Hussein, 24 Feb 2010Well, I knew the hardware requirement would be high, but I didn't expect them to be that high.... morei rather have something i don't need, then need something i dont have
Most smart phones are +- 600mhz or 800mhz so seeing that a phone not yet released to be 1ghz isnt that surprising.
What about colour depth? is it still 16bit (65K) only or can be 262k or 1670 million?
i feel all hw requirements are ok.but there should be better battery to pull those horses.
steep hardware requirements, also equates to one age old microsoft fault, read as "resource hog"
as usual, Microsoft wanting to catch up with the industry, at the expense of massive hardware outlay ! what a bloody joke
im no Iphone fan, but i guarantee all of you, that the winmobile 7, will find it hard to even match current state of fluidity and smoothness, as available on several current generation devices
Why i must pay even 1€ to have windows on my phone. I think there are enough issues with desktop windows!!!
woaw ! this means that cannot put on HTC Touch Diamond 2 a WinMo 7 ?? coool ! xD
Minimum requirements: 4 GB RAM, 20 GB free disk space, 256-pipelines HyperSuper GPU with 1 GB video RAM,
Recommmended requirements: 16 GB RAM, 250 GB free disk space, 1024-pipelines UltraDazzling GPU with 4 GB video RAM,
Microsoft style, baby, I love it when it happens !
=))
i want aske this question : is HTC HD2 Commensurate with the specifications of window phone 7
pleas awnser me
thanks
The moral of this story is im a PC and my mobile browser has ten months to go until it has matured enough to ship!
Would it work on HTC HD2... I know it meet the CPU and Graphic requirement...
I think its ok, the 1ghz phones will be cheaper by christmas and surely there will be faster options by that time too, so i dont see it as a bad thing.
I think it will be as usual from MS they give a high end minimum H.W configration but you still will be able to run it with less specifications but with some losses like in win7 for PC may be basic themes and some programes for the UI will not work if the spcifications are not comply with the minimum requirments but I think it will still can be installed on any Win Mo but with some losses in graphics and UI interface
spk307, 24 Feb 2010Microsoft has taken a really bold step. No more whining about "Windows mobile hangs!"... moreThis is yet to be seen...
Microsoft has taken a really bold step. No more whining about "Windows mobile hangs!", "Its gets stuck up"... As somebody said, though the OS may require a smaller CPU, the user experience will be good only if there is enuf buffer of memory and processor capacity.
X-box really??
I would give up my android phone if I can play street fighter on windows phone!
Hussein, 24 Feb 2010Well, I knew the hardware requirement would be high, but I didn't expect them to be that high.... moreyeah, the more horsepower in a phone, the better it is. I like a all in one powerful package.
I'm confused here. Is the PR confused Windows Mobile 7 with Windows 7.
1Ghz is the minimum requirement for Windows 7.
Well. It's true that these requirements are a bit high, but don't forget this is an OS that would allow users to play Xbox Live games. It's not important it's "a phone". Phones are dead. What we have now are powerful mobile devices that can give the user strong multimedia capacity, games and they allow phone calls. This would be a much more correct description.
