Anonymous, 29 Oct 2015Don't forget that Qualcomm denied overheating of the Snapdragon 810 in the first place. and that rumor about 810 overheating had never really got anywhere beyond just been a rumor. But just like everything else in the media that get oft repeated, morons start treating it as a fact.

Whos beliving Qualcomm? They also denied overheating problems with the SD810.... Seems legit for me what Samsung is doing entering CPU design market.... and building there own...maybe they know more about the 820 problems then Qualcomm states. So Samsung said screw u guys at Qualcomm we make our own processors

the s810 on xperia z5 and z5 compact has no heating issues thanks to its creative thermal sink + gel . i have tried many of sammys phones and still it is overheating compared to my z5 and compact . i have also tried iphone 6s and + till now and still cant even match my xperia.

now im waiting for the z5 premium to release . bad ass than ios and touchwiz

Anyone who actually believes this rumor is stupid. The 810 was a rushed-to-market product. The 820 has been in development for probably about 2 years now, ever since Apple dropped the original 64-bit bomb. On top of that, after all the crow they've had to eat over the 810's problems, do you honestly think they'll let it happen again? Not on your life. They'll do whatever they have to do to make sure this SoC is perfect.

It's their fault for poor heat management.
It's our fault for being greedy for power and bragging rights.
It's the devs fault for making poorly coded power hungry apps.
All of us played a part in this whole fiasco. We saw this coming, and yet we did it anyway.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2015Don't forget that Qualcomm denied overheating of the Snapdragon 810 in the first place. Yeah, in theory the 820 shouldn't have the issues that the 810 had, because Qualcomm is using their usual custom design process for the 820 and not the off the shelf cores they uses in the 810 (which was an aberration for Qualcomm).

But given that they denied the issues with the 810 and have really never acknowledged that they're real, now that it has been proven over and over, it kind of undermines their credibility in this case.

This is why it's bad PR for companies to lie. Assuming the rumors about the 820 are unfounded, Qualcomm now has no credibility to nip them in the bud.
