hey guys! they just want to upsell their WMP7. If you are using htc HD2, better stick with it! What? are you going to throw you htc HD2 just because you can't upgrade it into WMO7? We don't need that upgrade as long as your phone still running.

Dave, 01 Mar 2010About time! Everyone has been speculating for ages about this. I have Known that the hardware ... moreWhy does your HD2 not have a future? Does it do what you need it to do right now (that's why U bought it). I'm disappointed that the HD2 will not get WM7 update, but the HD2 is still the best phone out right now, and maybe til 2012? HD2 phones gives you customization as WM7 doesn't of the UI. What you see with WM7 is what U get. No customization except wallpaper customization. I like to make the phone my own. Besides Spb Shell v5 will be out, and I want to see how that looks on the HD2. I use Spb Shell v3.5.3 now and love it.

I think HTC and Microsoft knew when the HD2 was released that it wouldn't get the update. These companies work hand in hand together. The HD2 sales helped HTC, and not providing a WM7 update helps MS. Who would buy the new WM7 phones if the HD2 was to get the update? I wouldn't..

why the h*lll you are all begging for official upgrade, we all use custom roms from xda, there will be also for hd2 very soon. so why is it so important if there is going to be an upgrade or not. we will never install it on the device even if it comes, so what is the point of it.

Why are you so angry about this?
HTC HD2 is very good device even without Windows Phone 7
and I must say that WinMob 6.5 + Sense UI looks a lot better than this crappy Windows Phone 7 UI
What’s so crappy about HD2 NOW that you say that you're going to throw it away? Most of you didn't buy it for Win Phone 7, But for what it can do RIGHT NOW.
HTC HD2 is a lot better without WinPhone 7

About time! Everyone has been speculating for ages about this. I have Known that the hardware buttons are miles different to the Win MO 7 standard as soon as they showed the first device. Oh well I can now sell my HD2 as it has no future with out a new OS upgrade.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2010People, calm down. I think the lack of a GPU with N900/Vivaz calibre is the reason. After all:... moreI beg to differ. The WM7 UI is not that great. It looks plain to me. The UI of the SE x10 looks better, but I'm a WM user.

By giving the HD2 the WM7 update, the new WM7 phones coming out this year wouldn't sell. Why buy a WM7 phone when you can buy an HD2 and load WM7 on it, with less the cost. WM7 phones will be higher price than HD2 by then. The price of the HD2 will be falling, due to new phones coming on the market this year and next.

That's right. The WP7 is really not worth to be worried about for now.

Your next phone in 2011-2012 will eventually meet all the requirements of the 7 OS.

Until then, we will be looking for a better HTC HD2 replacement. It is all about cycles. And you have just now been cycled.

It is all according to the game.

danny200, 01 Mar 2010Shame on you Microsoft !! this is so much than ridiculous ! HD2 could run without problems Win... morePlease read the requirement agian... or wait, there is none. What if they have changed? I mean, there is a reason why the first WinMo7 handset will come by the end of THIS year. I'm sure tech will be better than the HD2 by then. Heck, even the mighty N900 will be outdated!

People, calm down. I think the lack of a GPU with N900/Vivaz calibre is the reason. After all: WinMo7 = ButterUI (with requires a good GPU)

Snapdragon is the fastest CPU availible hands down, but what about the GPU... you know the thing that handles the UI!?

LOL O.o

What a weird reason!
2 exta bottons shouldn't make that big deal.
I beleive its the missing hardwares/components business that make it un-upgreadable.

I had HTC HD2 for a month, but then it's own operating system was so laggy that it sometimes even became difficult to pick up a call due to all that screen hanging problem, so i guess it was quite much a good decision on not upgrading it to Windows 7 it would have been a disaster...

Oh well, I was going to get SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 anyway. HD2 is still mine with SPB Carousel Mobile Shell 3.5 OS. If you haven't heard about it, look it up as it is simply awesome and only $30. The second I get the HD2, I'm putting that OS on it.
