Samsung have the most over saturated POS images on their phones. you need to compare them with a Lumia 930. that still beats even the newest phones in terms of image quality (although the image taking isnt as fast as other cameras).
the Sony phones also have better images (although these get ruined by over sharpening)

Samsung only manyfactures mirrorless or Compact System Cameras which is a more appropriate term in order to describe this camera category. It never produced any DSLR. It is really almost impossible for any manufacturer to create its own camera mount out of nowhere and then built a complete system with camera bodies covering all the segments of the market while at the same time providing a full line up of lenses covering all focal lengths. Even Sony, a company known for its propriatory systems, which in addition, for years produced some of the best compact cameras in the world, decided to buy Minolta in order to enter the DSLR market, so that their cameras would be built around an established camera mount while at the same time even before the launch of the first Sony DSLR camera there would be an established user base with lenses compatible to the new cameras produced by Sony.

Samsung has always been the best when it comes to smart phone cameras. I wonder if they will consider keeping the line of cameras which are doing well and discontinue which aren't.

Good move, seriously. Keep focusing on what you can do good, or great, mobile phones, display panels, SSDs are your thing Sammy, stick with them. Leave the camera to Canon, Nikon and Sony.

ZXcorr, 04 Nov 2015Good decision. They're not good anyway.samsung's mirrorless camera's are actually really good, and are on par with sony's, i've got their base NX3000 model and it's a phenomenally great camera for the £250 i paid for it.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2015Kodak? I thought it was dead and buried. Not yet... Kodak is still around making digital printing solutions like papers, ink and huge printers... but those are for professional and industrial segment, they are long gone from the consumer market.
