5s was so comfortable to hold and use with one hand, but I've become accustomed to the plus, I wouldn't mind getting a second 4" iphone with updated specs as a spare though!

4.5" to 4.7" would be the best size, in my opinion. Not too big but big enough and easy to use it one-handed. But NOT like the iPhone 6s which is too big with the huge bezels, more like the Z3 compact

Very small chance it will increase sales, would just cannibalise their own sales since there's no substitute for it anyway. But a lot of people stopped at 5s and a phone around that size may encourage those people to upgrade.
