But you're spot on.
Yeah, everything should be optimized. No matter how fast your hardware is, if either your OS or your UI lags, it will be useless.
BTW, I'm also an App and Business Software Developer.

And if we see there`s bunch of these app in PlayStore... so in short: just optimizing android does not means everything will be fixed ! we need decent optimization for apps too !

Should devices implement such architecture, then there's another age old issue with its optimization. Most OEMs don't prioritize optimization nowadays and just bloat it with unnecessary codes/firmwares/apps... so who knows...
Don't get me wrong. I do agree with you...
It's just that OEMs nowadays just present "innovation", pack it in a device, markets it aggressively with expensive price tags but never really utilize nor optimize it.
So unless OEMs implement such device with this approach and optimize it, the performance would be great.
Quote "There's not much else about this new device, except that it will focus on four things: stability, speed, battery life and durability."
What else do you need? Should a phone shit diamonds and spit rainbows now?

zac89, 04 Nov 2015I don't understand this thing with 1GB dedicated video RAM. Can someone please explain that?? Compare it on how PCs work. It works similarly.
Current phone architectures have only 1 SoC for BOTH CPU (Overall Processor) and GPU (Graphics Card) working/sharing the same RAM. Having a dedicated Memory for a phone's GPU could be compared to having a dedicated video card for your PC.
In theory, this would translate to a better performance.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2015Helio x20 with 1GB Ram. What a waste! Rather have 3000mha and 2 or 3GB ram1gb of gpu ram . Read please . CPU ram can be 3/4gb .
Anonymous, 04 Nov 2015Helio x20 with 1GB Ram. What a waste! Rather have 3000mha and 2 or 3GB ramit's the GPU RAM. which is COMPLETELY different than CPU's RAM
i hope that 4mm thick is really 4mm thick not the thinnest point
i really HATE! that sh** they try to deceive customer
Indeed a monster! I understand that Graphic RAM is 1 GB (which is certainly impressive for a phone) but what about CPU's RAM? 3-4 GB seems legit. afaik.
Cont..MP2 not MP8 like s6 but seen is going to change completely change by arrival of mali t880 MP4 in helio X20 which is not having only double cores but according to ARM it is 80% better 40% power efficient than mali t760 and I predict that its performance will be around 170 Gflops and its better than adreno 330 at-least if not adreno 420. I hope that many of you must have understood my point . And remember that even power saving cores of upcoming mobiles are equally stronger as the performance cores of today lol ! and please correct me if I am wrong ?
I don't want a 4mm phone. Nexus 6P is already the easiest phone to bend (along with One M8 and M9) in the US and I can only imagine how thin the aluminum have to be for a 4mm phone.
If this is true all the specs.., then mate 8 will be crap
