we hope more power efficient SoC,therefore someone can experience 7days heavy duty phone in 2016.
and i keep using a 600 MHZ chipset phone... i guess i'll change it for a watch with nano-sim slot or something
I'd love to see a chip deploy one or two of these in conjunction with a pair of a72's in a big.LITTLE configuration...4k video recording AND killer battery life!
I'm wondering what they cut to save 25% area in the core. After all, A53 was a in essence a 64-bit implementation of A7 features with a few new instructions and improvement on the dual-issue capability. In any case A35 is still 30% bigger than A7.

There are so many mature 28nm processes that have high-power/low usage, that it is less advantageous to use a less mature and more costly process like the 20nm planar. FinFet is much more costly, and the benefits wouldn't justify the costs.
Thank god! They are now releasing a power efficient core! Now, all brands will now make a smaller mah capacity battery. Marketing strategy!

It's such a waste manufacturing such a processor on a 28 nm process, I'm no expert on the subject, but from my basic knowledge I know that the smaller transistor a process uses, the less power it consumes for the same processing power keeping all else constant. Since low power consumption is the focus area of improvement in smartwatches, that should have been a priority.
Taking in to the account that only purpose of smartwatch is to show notifications and send sensor data to phone, and most of screen are 240x240 or 320x320(no one need more)
Why they use this power sucker android wear that is nothing more that squeezed android 5.1 or other based on bigger system OS that no matter what CPU you use its gonna suck half of it power just to run it self.
Because you think smartwatch need 1Ghz and 512RAM to work? NO its need this power because OS of it never saw something like OPTIMIZATION.
Take for example old SonyEricsson or Nokia JAVA based phones, Remove phone function and all other useless for smartwatch stuff, and you have perfect system for it.
And before someone say that those system are not compatible with new technology... well yes, but I can ensure you that making it work need less effort than creating another annoying Android Wear system.
Such simple system that is capable of installing third party app can be made by anyone who know basic coding.
AND STILL such system would not need all that power to run it self.
