Just shows how apple is ripping pe0ple off! Those apple units are way much cheaper than their current price. Yeah they are good products, but i cant understand how they justify theur pricing with their units. Its all ur fault people coz you let apple fool you. Im very much happy with my LETV S1. I know its your money, but let me ask you this would you pay for something more than its worth? Nope? Well then why do you think iphone are worth than what they are now? They are not, they just keep selling it with thise prices coz they know there are lits of foolish people thats going to buy their products.

That makes sense. Apple's in the industry to make money, not to make good phones. Lucky for them, there are plenty of sheep to take it from.

AnonD-466419, 17 Nov 2015Apple sold at a margin of 37%, doesn't it mean that who purchased Apple products got fooled by... moreNo, that means that Apple has 94% share in the high end market. If you take Galaxy S6, Note5, LG G4, HTC One M9, Lumia 950, 950XL, Sony Xperia Z5, iPhone 6s and 6s+, what you will see is a market dominated by iPhones. This is perfectly explained by the average selling price in the article.
Now if you take the absolute number of phones sold, it will be dominated by Samsung. And Android based phones do dominate in sheer numbers. Which I believe currently stands at around 80%-85% global market share.

I've been using exclusively android phones since 2010, and I always said that iPhones have visual appeal. I hate the OS, but I would have loved the Android OS on an iPhone, but that is only as far as the overall phone design is concerned. HTC was supposed to be the iPhone in the android world, and i loved my M7, except for that horrendous camera, but lately HTC has taken a dive for the worse.

From the latest rumors, it looks like Galaxy S7 and LG G5 will both have a metal unibody build. Hopefully they're not going to look hideous. I like to feel good about equipment that I own, and a metal build surely adds to that experience.

Let me ask you a simple question, would Samsung prefer you to buy their Galaxy S6 or one of their cheapest phones.

That's basically the answer. Apple only sells flagship phones.

It's super strange how everyone's getting their panties all bunched up, and trying to compare Apple with Android manufacturers, which have completely different strategies.

The only reason Apple has such a high profit margin is because their selling price is just crazy. Paying $1000 for 128 GB iPhone 6s Plus is not justifiable for what you're getting...

Apple sold at a margin of 37%, doesn't it mean that who purchased Apple products got fooled by paying 37% more, whereas android consumers only paid 10-15% more than the actual price? :p

This is why some big Android smartphone makers will eventually exit the market.

Really? If you give a commercial company the choice between more profit but less market share or more market share but less profit, which one do you think they will pick?
The sole purpose of a commercial company is to make money.
You don't think Samsung's CEO would do anything, including selling his wife and kids, for the chance of Samsung trading places with Apple?

Shame on appleinsider for be-foolin... moreProfits almost always come from high end phones. Samsung sells much more mid and low end phones than high ends. So that's why samsung only makes about 10% while apple takes 90+%. Also, samsung gives out rebates and accessories to push sales of note and s, so that also eats up profits.
