So they are quite happy to import zirconia FROM Australia, but it is far too much effort for them to ship their phones to Australia. Very smart. Welcome to Australia where we have an abundance of coal, sand, sarcasm and apparently "exquisite zirconia".

I recently met with Carl Pei (Founder of Oneplus). He said this was trial thing actually. Since Apple in testing ceramic material and it might be the future for premium phone they also wanted to see how would the material do in real life.

now lets hope they will have proper quality control/lower tolerance for parts such as the screen and memory. Imagine you buy one of those phones and you have a badly tinted screen because they also tolerate bad screens like that so that they can sell their devices cheaper. then getting a new one won't be as easy I imagine because the other phones will already be preordered too so they cant just give you a new one since there's none available anymore.

The problem with zirconia ceramics is that it's very brittle. Wonder how strong and reliable the back cover would be.
