I used to work in a bank's IT department. We had our bank's app for ios, android, windows, and bb. After a while we stopped updating the app for windows mobile because the number of users were less than 0.5% and it was not worth the effort.
I guess this is one of the reasons windows is lacking in mobile apps

It could also show a user that all the apps they actually use are available. Since 1996 all I have ever had were Windows powered devices and I have never had an issue with the apps. And besides, some of the apps that are missing are built natively into the OS.

So, it's clear who will be the winner. Google.

I hate those wp icons. all of them are dull and ugly. Windows 7 icons has better look than them.

Android does not have a real desktop OS

There are great third party Twitter clients f.x. tweetium is better than official android app imo. Who needs google apps when ms gives full suite of apps/tools such as calendar, office, onedrive etc. U are exagerrating the problem. Maybe this app is useless, but many apps for wp are much better than for android. FX. camera apps including stock one, facebook, plenty of rss readers and many others. Most of them also include dark theme which helps a las at night.

I have bought a Lumia 640 and I regret the decision I had made.
On Android I had more than 20 apps that I used constantly... on WP I have less than 3 apps that I use almost daily. I miss my Android apps!
WP phones are for users that want only to make calls, send SMS, browse web. That's all. If you want more, WP is not for you!
