Second, you probably forget that what you call "mobile apps" are (or better, "can be") pretty feature complete and quite powerful applications, just written for a specific sandboxed environment and with some different priorities in their design (ability to work properly in a greater variety of display sizes and resolutions etc.).

abc, 23 Nov 2015that's why it doesn't deserve to be called 'powerful'. because it basically just a mobile app ... moreIf apple tries to do a more limited version of this via their ipad "Pro" (a 'replacement' for the PC), ppl pee themselves out of uncontrolled outburst of excitement and joy. Let me extend the argument of the ipad pro, it replaces the need of a PC for most of the ppl who use their PC for light activity. It has the same version of photoshop express that ipad flaunts, has a very usable office suite for most ppl (unless you are a power user) and even has a full fledged browser to use proper PC UI of majority of the online applications (youtube, hangout, and all the beloved google applications that the folks have formed a strong dependency on). The main advantage being that they all share the same kernel, which allows them to theoretically support the same devices which the PC does. Guys from windows central even tested out a professional USB microphone, which worked perfectly out of the box. With one simple box, and maybe a usb hub, you can attach plethora of devices you could ever possibly want.
Pretty much anything an ipad pro can do on its own (excluding the add-on pencil) can be done on the lumia as well, and much much more!
The double standards used against the lumia phones is ridiculous. Are people really this full of shit and prejudice?

For me unlocking is something spontaneous and I dont think about it. With fingerprint you can unlock the phone by picking it up, with Iris it does not work every time and everywhere and you have to do the same procedure all the time.
The most simple thing in the world, unlocking, gets more complicated than it should be.
Iris is good for some more important authentications but unlocking cannot take longer than 1 second.

The iris scanner really make me excited to have this phone. How great it is, 10 times safer than fingerprint. but sadly people not aware about this. But if Apple do this, people will be like wowww, new invention. What the heck guys. Another example is wireless charging, Nokia did it since 2012 on their Lumia 920 and continues till today with Microsoft devices, but when Samsung did it on their phone people says its new invention. Come on guys. Learn to see something different on other brands. Don't be too fanboy. Coz u got nothing and company don't reward you anything to support them.

No, they are not the only and especially not the first who put it in a mobile phone so it is not unique. Sony did it already.
And btw there are faster chipsets without this type of cooling.
