Samsung, intel and tsmc have all spent $15+ billion each developing their 14nm nodes.

Designing an SoC is much easier and far less expensive than designing a 14nm node process. The only thing you have to worry in SoC design is whose components you want to use, which is just a cost - benefits analysis.

Is it more profitable to use Samsung's state-of-the-art storage and flash tech or is it better to use hynix tech, which is inferior, but less expensive.
Not very hard. Almost every tech company designs their own SoC.

This is where specs made all the difference. So, at least two years from now until ifans will finally taste the best most gorgeous display out there. Haha Samsung flagships owners should rejoice to keep enjoying the best display exclusively for two more years.

Crapple designs nothing but their old school prohibitive os. The processors are already built on an existing platform designed by... you guessed it... SAMSUNG :)

Who was first to market with the 14nm process? Samsung, right? Who needs that design for their phone? Crapple, right? Hmm, who's dumb now, nitwit.

They dont want to take chances. Remember when amoled screens came. They had way more saturation and aweful screen burns. Now when amoleds will be perfected(as in note 5), apple will use it. Because apple know if they screw up, there will be a new "gate".

Also, iOS is pretty laggy. I believe apple is putting heavier code every update to slow down your device so you can buy newer iphones. My iPhone 5 and iPad 3 are the laggiest devices I've ever used.

AnonD-183110, 24 Nov 2015What technology? LCD's may be obsolete, but no way Oleds. I think he's saying that within 2018 when the iPhones are getting the AMOLED / Super AMOLED screens, then Samsung have come out with a new and much improved screen called like 'Super Duper AMOLED' or something that makes the current AMOLED / Super AMOLED screens today kinda old tech.

But let's hope Apple is smart to choose the lastest AMOLED technology when they have come to the point that they are going to use that.

All the people accusing apple for making their phone of parts from other companies. Tell me what is the most important part in smartphone , the OS. All the other smartphones are using android (from google) i.e, the most important part. And all haters are pointing out that apple is using hardware parts from manufacturers (even after designing some of them themselves).

Despite Apple's focus on making phones thinner to the point of reducing battery, they still use cheap, thick, LCD screens, to line the pockets of shareholders.

Good job Apple sheep, you actually managed to make the iPhone worse.

Even Samsung's 2-year - old Oled are better than the best LCDs.

If Apple sticks with LCD, they'll have the worst displays on the market.
Samsung's display unit is making record profits. They don't need Apple, but they wouldn't mind getting more money.
This is Apple begging samsung for tech, because apple doesn't have any smart engineers capable of engineering tech. Apple is a repackager.

Designing a fab process is harder and more impressive than designing an SoC, which is just taking other companies' components and putting them together.

An Soc is just a board with components from different manufavturers. Apple doesn't design the components that go into their Soc except the CPU, which is just a mild custom form of stock arm cores.

                              AMOLED displays aren't oversaturated, inaccurate, not-readable-under-direct-sunlight, not-energy-efficient pieces of sh*t anymore ?

I am just saying that there are technologies at work that have removed the inherent disadvantages of Java.

One such example is ART. Another would be AOT (ahead of time) compiler.
