AnonD-466184, 24 Nov 2015iPhone has been a Samsung/Sony/LG phone from the very beginning ;) iPeople are simply d*mb, 6... moreApple have used parts from other suppliers, but it's the OS that counts.
If you run iOS and Android on the same hardware, iOS will be miles ahead of Android in terms of performance, stability, etc.

That's what Samsung/Sony/LG/etc. can't have: a good OS.

From the oleophobic glass, to the reflectivity, to the contrast, to the subpixel orientation, theirs seem to be a notch ahead. If they were to include Sony's triluminos backlighting tech, then it would definitely be the best LCD, period.

"Still, there is no denying that if current market trends keep up, the Cupertino giant will be forced to move away from LCD's just to stay relevant, whether or not it is the best economical decision. "
What is a "current market trend"? NFC was a current market trend a few years ago and Apple simply *had* to adopt it. They didn't, and NFC is now irrelevant, except for mobile payments. MicroSD card slots have been a current market trend for years and Apple was criticized for not adopting it. Now even Google is moving away from external storage support in its Android builds.

Take a look at any Samesung phone on display in your local store and notice the inevitable screen burn-in. The whites look yellow/green, and the screen looks dull. Apple will not be "forced to move away from LCD's just to stay relevant" ... why would they adopt second-rate technology just because it is a "current market trend"?

Who buys a Samesung phone because it has an AMOLED screen? If their declining sales are anything to go by, the answer is nobody!

Glad to see them joining the rest of the world 9 years after the fact ... oled is by far the best tech yet iphone users had to subject themselves to terrible LCDs for years to (no) end ... and to think that -once-upon-a-time Apple was the prime mover of new techs (usb, lcd, capacitive touch, etc), now they're relegated to followers of trends like any other big-Corp , a truly sad transition for an once innovative company.

Material doesn't make a 'phone'. The electronic hardware is what count. Plus, Samsung can in fact make their phone out of nothing. They have their own camera sensors, ISOCELL & BRITECELL. They have their own patented Turtle Glass. They make their own chipsets and everything inside the phone. As for the magnesium, they need out source external material because it undergoes strict testing before can be use. Samsung doesn't have that kind of tech to build aircraft graded aluminum either. Entirely different category.

Guys, who are bashing apple, just remember that no company in the world can manufacture phone out of nothing, everyone has their own supplier. Example: samsung includes magnesium in their future flagships, and the magnesium is supplied from company "TB", does this make upcoming samsung flagships to be a "TB" masterpiece rather than Samsung's ? Of course not. Think with your head, before commenting.
