While I hate apple I will say that my Wifes IPAD 2 still runs the latest version of IOS.

Google has got to figure out how to separate Hardware driivers, OS and CRAPWARE. Take the OS updates away from the manufatures and keep control over it. You don't see Apple or Microsoft letting the hardware vendor dictate OS upgrades (yes I know apple has full control of the process). Except for Android you just don't see any OS out there that isnt deployed by the maker of the OS.

For the price we pay for these tablets I expect a minimum of 5 years out of the device. The only issue I have had with my old tablets is the manufacture like Samsung drops updates way to early and apparently day 1 is acceptable to Samsung.

I will think twice before buying another Samsung device and it will probably have to be a give away price to even consider it.

I feel as others have said when a company gets as big as Samsung does that it has the only game in town. It forgets or rather ignores how it got started and what it means to really be customer friendly. If you are as stupid enough to buy their products like myself and many other people have been in the past then it's good luck chuck!!!!!!

I bought my wife a apple tablet, she gets a lot of updates and her tablet works fine. I am disappointed that I bought the Samsung tab 8.4, no updates, still running kit Kat. Though Sam sung promises an update. I paid about 450. For this tablet, not the cheaper model.
Though it has been a good product, I will not buy another Sam sung because of not receivin any updates on a 1 yr old machine. Apple is the best

Just found out no updates for my Samsung pro 10.1 from kit kat to lollipop. 1 answer sauna my note 3 has made way for a nexus 6 my tablet for a nexus 3 years of updates.maybe your sales for the tab pro series didn't warrant it because of poor sales. Hardly the way to increase them.you will be left selling cheap 7 inch tabs because people who like an up to date high end tablet won't be back.ps bought a 4G Sony TV instead lost sales everywhere because I will not buy your produc again.

I have several Samsung tables for my family. I bought them last year. Samsung does not want to upgrade Android. I am very disappointed in Samsung. Also, I am upset.
Samsung sold tables and never upgrade Android for a year. That means that Samsung is neglect to manage OS system. Samsung does not want to improve their apps as well.
Samsung wants to focus only hardware, but Samsung removed SD card and removal battery from their cell phones. What is difference between S6 and S7 !?
Samsung does not seem to care of customers!!
          We should boycot Samsung products.
Samsung is following Sony. Sony thought that Sony was the best and proud.
Samsung does not have proper plan for tables any more. No consistence for table names.
Tab Pro vs Tab S. Tab A, E, J, S2. Samsung is lost.

You can root the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, and put a Lollipop Rom/OS on it. That's what I've done, and it's amazing. It works perfectly, and I've overclocked the processors. I recommend XDA Developers / Cyanogenmod.

Samsung are really terrible with updates. Boycott Samsung and Sue for not providing updates for 2 years as promised.

It really annoys me that i bought a top of the range tabpro - to then get no updates. While android updates arent the end of the world, the issue is the compatability of other apps in the store in the future.

I guess samsung didnt sell enough units to warrant keeping the software uptodate.

What grinds my gears is the fact that it can't be due to a lack of RAM, as the Tab 4 which UNLIKE the Tab Pro, only came with 1.5GB RAM. In case it has ecasped you the Tab PRO 8.4 & 10.1 both had 2GB's of RAM. The PRO/Note 12.2 had 3GB's of RAM respectively.

So if the Tab 4 with it lower RAM capacity can get the Lollipop Update, then surly it shouldn't have been that much of a task for them to have gotten it done here too.

They knew they f***ed their loyal Samsung sheeps when they released the "Pro" Series. The only Galaxy tablets worth their price tags are the S Series. In Alaska where I lived for 10 years, the Tab E and Tab A are a close price tag to the Tab S2. The flaws: horrible resolution size, horrible processing power in this future of technology and for odd, mysterious reasons, go for nearly the same price as the much faster, more powerful Tab S and Tab S2.

~I use CyanogemMod since June: https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Mondrianwifi_Info
                                Perfect without Samsung's unuseful staff.~

Just remember that installing a Custom OS like CyanogenMOD which is the only way way you can roll if you have the LTE version, will not only trip the Knox warranty flag thingy, but will close the door on ever using those Knox Programs - Folders ever again.

Samsung really dropped the ball in not keeping my Samsung pro 8.4 up to date, it will be the last samsung product, that I will ever buy. I was weary of buying samsung as I remember when they were considered a sub-par product like jensen, I had heard that they had improved, I liked the screen, but their lack of updates prove the are still a crappie Koren company. I'll stick with nexus branded products in the future as products that don't get updates eventually won't work with all apps, so thanks a lot samsung for a whole lot of nothing! !!!!!!!!!

Just been informed by SamsungUK than my Tab Pro 8.4 will NOT receive a Lollipop update.
Last time I tweeted them (about 8 weeks ago, was told, 'We'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's ready, David. ^DF!'. Humph...
The device is barely 24 months old and to abandon it to further O/S updates so soon is appalling. I've never been an Apple fan but, Boy does an IPad look tempting now
