AnonD-467404, 30 Nov 2015this news in GSMarena?. smells like a trap to someone. just like NSA trapped totally anonymous... moreGsmaArena Blog is about technology in general and not just cell phones unlike the news section or the review section which both are for cell phones only (maybe tablet and smartwatches too).
Sorry for answering late but that is because I am reading these news late and I see no one answered your questions.

To be honest with you guys , and not trying to defend pirate bay, it is a mistake to ban piratebay in the first place because most seeders advise to support companys and buy product, in my case when i could use piratebay i would use more as a trial of the game/ movie, so if i did like i would buy it and get that horrible feeling like omg i just spend 50 pounds on a horrible game... so really piratebay for most cases is helping business...

This is stupid. I didn't see some movies in theatres when distributors decided not to provide them in my country so I grabbed them online and when I liked them, I HAD to have them - so I bought them on amazon. How can I buy some movies that I'm not sure I like without checking them first? If I want and like something, I buy it and pay in EUR and it doesn't matter how much it costs. If I don't like it, I don't buy it and don't watch it even when it's available via a free TV channel, period.

Internet usage will go down quite heavily if torrents are not available!
yes, it may have impacted the movie producers a bit but literally, the people who wants to see the movies in the theater, goes to the theater.. and the ones who don't wanna see the movies in theaters at all... they download it from torrent! what do they think? if people stop downloading from torrent, they will visit theatre? no they never will..!!!
same thing about games and other media products.. the ones who don't wanna spend, will really never spend no matter what! they will instead prefer not using those products instead of paying for it!

Doh, 30 Nov 2015Why is this even on GSMArena? This has absolutely nothing to do with mobile tech.Being in competition, sites like GSMArena have no choice but share such information. You see even though no direct relation with technology, site banning and such appeals do require technical knowledge and expertise. So may be this is the reason GSMArena shared this news.

this news in GSMarena?. smells like a trap to someone. just like NSA trapped totally anonymous criminal TOR users by opening a captured website in the anonymous channel. in this they and fbi had a huge victory over online drug dealers . this time for pirates. I am sure

Well if the question is about copyright movies and music being distributed free of charge than majority of torrent sharing sites need to be blocked. Today, majority use of torrent is to access these free of cost. Now, it's the uploader who should be blamed and not the website. It's my point of view.
