dukaki, 01 Dec 20154gb on Note5 and S6 isn't enough for touchwiz. Also, on tablets at least, you need as much ram... moreEvery manufacturer puts some kind of bloatware on their devices. Just root your phone and install a clean rom and you won't have any ram issues. Not to mention overclocking the processor.
You just need to use your brain..

How many tabs and apps do you have open dude? 4Gb phone vs 2Gb tablet is a big difference. And I like how you conveniently added Chrome into your argument, clearly you have something against Google, then I saw your shitty avatar and it all made sense lol

AnonD-104069, 01 Dec 2015Why the hell would anyone need a whooping 8 GB ram in a smartphone.... I mean Come on guys... more4gb on Note5 and S6 isn't enough for touchwiz. Also, on tablets at least, you need as much ram as you can get if you want smooth multi-window, multitasking etc.

Android is getting more and more bloated and resource hungry with every new release (just like chrome). Nexus 9 for example can't run properly with 2gb of ram (launcher redraws, chrome tabs refreshing, lag when multitasking because of zram) but a windows tablet with the same amount can run light 3D games/IDEs/many tabs on chrome among other things with little slowing down.

So yeap, more ram for android is bliss.

Why would you need 8GB of RAM ?
I'm sure 4-6 is probably enough, even for heavy multitaskers.

I suppose the source means that SD830 will support up to 8 GB of RAM in the same PoP stack as the SoC. The SD810 already supports 8 GB of RAM (or more) with separate memory chips or stacks, although that option is not usually utilized in smartphones, since currently there is little need for more than 4 GB of RAM.

many ppl fail to see that the phone is just an extension of the bigger connected world. Augmented reality is one thing, but a lot of us do screencasting to various devices as well. The phone has now evolved into a workhorse, an actual miniature PC capable of handling client-side processing for some of the new things to come.
