derpules, 26 Nov 2016maybe you should learn to use the stuff you own, what a crazy ideaSo......can ANYONE actually help with the issues related to the battery on the 950XL? It sure seems not....everyone quick to talk, yet I cannot believe Microsoft have stuffed up this badly. Suggestions please? Would be appreciated as i have been a Nokia fan ever since the beginning of cells in South Africa :)

Mine (950XL) has also had same crap and spent two weeks being "fixed, but screen heats like crazy and battery needs charging after ten minutes chatting on whatsapp??? Your input would be appreciated if it resolves the problem, as i do not believe i am the idiot this makes us all out to be.

I got my Lumia 950xl about a month ago. It had battery drain issues on the first day and the screen got super hot too. I thought that components would surely get damaged. I think the idiot sales rep took some short cuts during the initial startup process. He sent me off to continue my shopping so I wouldn't catch him. Anyway, I did a factory reset and installed again and the problem was solved. However, just lately it seems the apps are consuming a lot of power and the rate of drop is much faster. I hope the next update will fix this.

Then I got Lumia 1520 and charged it every 3, sometimes 4 days. Then I bought Moto X Pure Edition. I just can't believe this. Its battery doesn't last iven 10 hours. If you want to go with Samsug welcome to the club.

I am very disappointed with my new Nokia Lumia. The battery doesn't even last half a day and it heats up all the time even if not in use. What is the problem?

I am too tired of Lumia problems, I bought two days ago new Lumia 950XL, battery is twice worse then Lumia 930, but the same as Lumia 920. So now I have 3 phones, Lumia 920 ( bad battery), lumia 930 (sensor problems), Lumia 950xl ( bad battery). Lumia 950xl will be my lastest phone from microsoft. Why I must allways be desappointed when I bought phone, always search how fix the problem? Am I phone repairer? No! So nex I will to choose, Samsung, I-phone or some phone fom China. I suggest no to puchase microsoft phones enymore.

A... moreThere will be a windows update in your mobile, which is ready to download, go to Settings-> Update & Security->Phone update-> and download the available update for your Windows OS.this download will be done only in Wifi Network. It will take a while please be available with patience.
the mobile will automatically restart or you can schedule a time. Once everything completed the phone will be very good with battery backup.

I have had the 950XL for nearly 8 months and was getting an 18% battery use in only 15 mins! And to add insult to injury the phone was giving me a warning of this. What was I doing looking at emails. This is the worst phone I have ever owned and will never consider a Microsoft phone again. Very, very disappointed. No help from Microsoft at all...none from phone supplier or network provider...Have bought another phone to see out my contract. Do not even think of buying this phone.

Solved ... morehad the same issues and tried the nordic link - worked like a charm. phone no longer heats up and battery is now 1.5 days without need of a recharge.

Using windows recovery tool says, you have the uodated software, but if you are to check the number they are not the same. Does it mean after I reinstalled the software, I need to update through my my again just to get the latest update on my phone?

Downloaded and went through the process of the recovery tool. “Windows Device Recovery Tool” (Only works for WP10 phones), and connected my phone to my computer through USB cable. You can google this article, HOW TO SOLVE OVERHEATING BATTERY, FAST BATTERY DRAIN, AND STORAGE ISSUES ON MICROSOFT LUMIA 950 XL. The recovery tool part is at the end. BTW I have the the 950 not the XL and of course it worked.

I am having EXACTLY the same problems as you are experiencing. I think I bought the Lumia 950 in the fall of 2015. The battery life was terrible. Than it was great and now for the last month its terrible again. The phone gets so hot my wife is afraid it will explode. Any solutions anyone.

I've had a Lumia 950 since Dec. I am currently gettng well over 2 days with light use. Brilliant improvement since the last update and following some tips on Google. I'm not sure exactly what fixed but i did log out of Skype and set my 5 email accounts to check every 15 mins to an hour depending on importance. Such a shame the phone has bombed if it had been release with this battery life it would have been a great selling point.

Can somebody help me with my lumia 950? When I use it for any app, maps, or games I think that the phone will explode, is it the same with you guys or not? I don't know if that is because of the battery, or from the OS, because it is still not 100% optimized. Thank you :)
