I had the Nokia Lumia 1020 and i am sorry to say, i am very disappointed with the phone, it was working fine for the last 2 years, would get slow when the space was running low but that as far as all mobile devices go, is expected and is easily fixed.
what really disappoint me was... The phone was working fine the one evening, plugged in the charger to charge the battery and was still browsing around on the phone as normal and then went to sleep, once i tried to turn on the screen a couple of hours later the phone was dead.... since then i have charged the battery and i have tried to connect the phone to my laptop and tried to restore the phone... nothing worked, the phone is now a glorified paper weight... all the pictures that i haven't yet backed up is now lost forever and i cannot get them back... so, Thank you Nokia for the great paper weight that i am now left with and thank you for destroying all my photos that i no longer have...

    The myth unfortnately lives on.

I really wish GSMarena or DPreview would do a big camera-phone test. Were they get both the 808 and the 1020. And the Panasonic CM-1.
    And the latest flagships.

The 1020 and 808 didn't lie about their sensor resolution. However, if you understand the tech and optics, you realise that even in the best of situations the photos you get will not have a detail resolution, that is the same as the sensor resolution.
(they should probably throw in a couple of last gen devices as well, the Note 4 had a different focal lenght, which means it will likely capture more details in the center frame, and might be better at the edges as well compared to later samsungs. And since Apple changed their camera, an older gen iPhone should probably be included as well)

In GSMarenas test with the 1020 and the S5, already back then we could see that in some areas of the photo, the S5 had more captured details.

I think both nokias would be dethroned, in a test, with captured details, low-light, dynamic range and so on. If not by more than one device, at least that panasonic.
And then we could finally stop hearing people talk of those nokias, over and over again.
But I do think other mobiles would beat those nokias, at least in one aspect.

That's the only thing that made me ever consider a WP phone.. Now I'm happily rocking the S6. Still. the 1020 was the best the Microsoft camp ever came up with in smartphone. It's just outdated now, but that camera is still a force to be respected. I mean, give me any brand's Android phone with that 40+mpx camera (granted the quality is what the 1020 had) and I'd get it in a heartbeat.

The way things are going with the Microsoft lumia range with its Windows 10, and the lack of apps and interest from users hooked to their iPhones and Android devices, its would be utterly stupid if Microsoft launches this device with its current strategy of Windows phones.

If it's adopting kinect tech, then this will be the real 3D touch. Not that gimmick one by fruitphone

So if the project is revived...will it be MS or Nokia to do it?
Will it be with Ms Os or Android in case of the latter?

Eitherways....get on with it and release it
