AnonD-416078, 08 Dec 2015No, it isn't, but his point is that you can do the same things 3D touch does with 'long pressing'.not exactly... 3d touch add a new function for screen so when you try to do something, you will do faster with 3d touch, since you can just press harder instead of looong press. I already agreed that you can do something on software side, but I wouldn't say its not needed tech like he said.

And therein lies the issue with 3D Touch, its functionality is really easy to emulate on 2D touch digitisers. Granted there are some cases where it may not be able to be aped perfectly, but for everything Apple has demonstrated with 3D touch, it just feels gimmicky at best and downright useless at worst.

3D Touch and technology alike is just a glorified long press. The addition of this feature shows that you don't need all the extra tech under your screen. This can all be done on the software side.

A lot of apps got very restricted control and 3d touch will not help it much. At least people can try and see that its not just technology that makes limitations. Pressure sensitive screen is great tech, and with Useful apps can be great (like pressure sensitive Surface/Samsung pen).
