Ios 9 don't block ads from apps. Only blocks open Web ads via safari. Use apple news u will see ads.

In few more years ad supported apps will be a thing of the past. That will be the end for most free apps. Other free apps will steal your data and sell to make a living. This will impact a lot to Android users.
