AnonD-442781, 12 Dec 2015Yeah. Using faulty screens to prove your point is really convincing.I got many mails from Samsung and an act from Samsung Service Center that says it's not a fault, neither a defect. They say it's ok for their screens to act like this.
This is a warranty denial act from Samsung Service Plaza. It straightly says poor viewing angles does not prevent from seeing an information from screen therefore not a defect.

Samsung responed even more worse. It ok they said. If you personally don't like it then sue us. So yes. They consider it's not a defect. So it's very convincing. Especially considering a giant amount of defective screens.

1)almost natural color[not all like over saturated color]
2)power efficient in white[which is really mostly in iOS,android UI,web pages,apps],amoled still takes 3 times more power in white than IPS
3)cheap
4)no burn in[have more life than AMOLED]
5)better resistance to water than AMOLED
6)have better sun legibility than AMOLED[due to lack of backlight in AMOLED]

although it luks gud, i almost always prefer ips ... moreOLED is generally more efficient compared to LCD (including IPS LCD) in term of power consumption. I said generally, because in term of white-ish colors, they are three times less efficient compared to LCD. Why? Because OLED use light composition to generate colors using three OLED with basic colors which is red, green, and blue.
Using this concept, to generate black color, these three OLED are simply switched off, means no power consumed at all. To generate darker gray (color code #333333), the OLED is switched on but dimmed by only supply them with small power. They only receive full power for a bright colors, which means white is the most exhaustive color compared to others (since the three OLED will be on state and full power to boot).
So, if you have white color covering your screen, then OLED's power consumption is far bigger compared to LCD (up to three times). But if you have black color covering your screen, then OLED's power consumption is basically near-zero (basically, it's the same with when you turn off the display), which means far more efficient compared to LCD (since showing white or black didn't differ much in term of power consumption since LCD need backlight to support brightness and backlight power consumptions are constant over time).
But for durability, It seems that LCD can hold longer than OLED (at least than Samsung's AMOLED).

OLED production currently requires costly manufacturing steps. Specifically, production of the substrate requires the use of polysilicon LTPS and bearing surface of the amorphous silicon requires a laser annealing. This part of the process AMOLED begins on procedural costs of a standard LCD. Along with the time-consuming and expensive manufacturing process, it can not currently be used in the manufacture of large screens.

OLED material used to produce blue light degrades significantly faster than the substances which produce the other colors.

While the energy consumption of OLED displays depicting mostly black figure is around 40% Power LCD displays, conventional images, it is around 60-80%. However, when you view a document or Web page on a white background OLED display can consume up to three times more energy than equivalent LCD.

Proven scientifically with its pure deep black, infinite contrast and extremely high viewing angle. Hating on it don't make a different. Samsung own 95.8% of amoled market already. Pretty much Samsung is god of display technology.

No one, without commercial corruption, can look at a tab s screen and commend anything lesser as superior.

It's got better viewing angles, it's more efficient, it has infinite contrast, better colour accuracy, and it even has more accurate whites. In reality there is not a single good thing about lcd screens anymore.

i dnt understand the hype around amoled....
although it luks gud, i almost always prefer ips lcd....
(used: samsung s3,s4,s5,s6 lg g2, xiaomi mi4)
i can easily say that all that extra contrast stuff is over hyped and ips luks better on daily usage and internet surfing coz of the whites.

AMOLEDS are really awesome...!
I used to like LCD very much before , but when I bought my first smartphone with AMOLED screen ( Samsung Galaxy Note 2 )...after using AMOLEDs...i don't even think of switching to LCDs...!
AMOLEDd are that great...!
