that's a ton of money
Patent laws are laws; everyone tries to find a loophole.
The money is peanuts for either company, all things considered.
Guys, now that this article's gotten our attention, let us think for a bit. Isn't it about time we started questioning the societal structures in place?
Anonymous, 15 Dec 2015What does that say about Capitalism? I don't know about capitalism in general - but for sure, corporate capitalism (CC) in America is a big problem. For one, it's unsustainable - it assumes an infinitely growing demand (which in CC, the government helps provide). Just read the plethora of articles/literature (and social science journals in your local university library - if verifiable sources are your thing) on the growing problems around this mode of capitalism.
Samsung did have no choice but to pay apple when they saw the juries hold ipad and iphones in their hands. now their trying it on the supreme court and hope the juries dont have an apple product... lol

Go Samsung! i want to see them win the last case
Samsung looks desperate lol..
Do they actually think that the US supreme court will not back up the American company over the Corean one?
Jury can be bought and was bought , but there is more to it, Apple is too important for the US financial interests, google, e-bay and fb are unsignificant though, but do they really mean their support?
Dear Apple
Stop pretending that you care about people in the world.I know what's on your mind for suing like this.
1.You are looking for an opportunity to license or sell your invention.(If there is one, after dear steve passed away)
2.You wanna Increase your negotiating power.
3.You want to make a positive image for your enterprise.
4. You wanna keep your strong marketing position.
5. You are looking for exclusive rights.
But the thing is, YOU are the one that needs to be sued. Because of your corrupted Politics.
Anonymous, 15 Dec 2015It says that Capitalism is the worst system ever...except for all the others.Nicely said lol

[deleted post]I am not trying to say companies or Apple for that matter should give out profits to charity! But simply saying It does not seem like a good thing to overdo! When you have too much profit & money, you won't know what to do with it! You go crazy and end up splurging on things you don't really need -can be such a waste of precious earth's resources!!
Apple is embarassing themselves. Even Google, Facebook and eBay agreed how absurd Apple sueing Samsung for unecessary things. Don't they have better job to do like fixing the Apple Smart Battery Case design. Apple too busy sueing people around.
Most companies compete in the market with their products and marketing etc. Apple, on then other hand, perform patent trolling and run to nearest court room ASAP as a standard business practice. Whilst patenting other people's ideas and claiming they inveted them, wherever possible. At one point they tried to patent all phones that were rectangular so they call claim royalties retrospectively. Is everyone else meant to make round phones just so Apple won't run to the nearest court room!!?? It is the equivalent of patenting a car and then claiming royalties for inventing the wheel as your own retrospectively.
Note that they can only do this rubbish in the US for the most part. That is more a reflection of pathetic US patent laws than anything else.
