I'm not hunt just frustrated that Google has to conform to idiots because they can't navigate some simple settings, not because of hatred, if they do remove it I'll just force myself to use the basic ass stock messenger app in conjunction with HO.

You don't need more features doesn't mean that others won't need it either! Besides I myself have found using the Scheduled SMS feature quite often, especially to my business partners. Which Hangouts never had, along with many other features, some useful, some might not be. Going by your posts it feels like you are really hurt that Google has decided to remove the SMS functionality from Hangouts. Dumber people or hater like you said in Google HO have decided to remove it, and if you feel like you are more intelligent than them then kindly send them an email about it. Funny that you think a large corporation like Google and their employees will act based on hatred, really funny.
AnonD-397371, 29 Dec 2015Ironic that you are talking about something which is not even there, or won't be if grammatica... moreI know that which is why I find it incredibly stupid that some people like the nerdy dude I was arguing with were cheering about getting LESS features in return, like the removal of SMS in Hangouts, which works just like the way it should and does in other similar apps. Besides. Hangouts is more than adequate for the average user, it has all the essential features like sms/mms, group chats, free voice & video calls, IM's and some unique ones like GV support, which I need since it's the number I've been using the longest and have given out the most plus emoji, sticker, photo, gif, map etc support if you're into that stuff, what more do you need?! If you want more than that then like you said there are other options, way more than the market really needs for a basic function like texting but nonetheless they are there. Like I said haters here are shitting on HO and it's SMS handling for no apparent reason. If Google does remove it's not because of it's functionality as the article hinted but the average user's inability to navigate or understand the settings and UI for two sms accounts on top of Hangouts and a dedicated messaging app, which even I'll admit found to be confusing at first.
AnonD-463876, 29 Dec 2015Funny you failed to mention that important part, you kept blabbering about some obscure Samsun... moreIronic that you are talking about something which is not even there, or won't be if grammatically corrected! You do realise that this article is about Google thinking about DROPPING the text messaging feature, not introducing or continuing with it, don't you?
It is a fact that Hangouts wasn't cut for text messaging purpose, yes, I myself have used it on several occasions, but its needless to say that the text messaging centric apps are obviously better that Hangouts, both in features and usability, my favourite is Chomp, though I was a Handcent user for long time. If you can you use the context that text messaging is just as simple as sending a message then by that I can say you should still use your Nokia 1600 for calling purposes, cause it used to do that quite well. You don't use some feature, that's your thing, how could you generalise others when you yourself lack the idea about the whole text messaging thing?
What a weird person!

You don't use the very useful SMS feature in Hangouts because no one sends you any texts lol otherwise what's the harm you're using Hangouts anyway, allegedly. Just for kicks I don't put much emphasis on IQ marks cause it's known to be biased and all, but clearly you do to showoff how brilliant and special you are lol

Email? Nah lad, I don't have any below 60 IQ person listed in my sent box, don't want to start now.

And what you do is your business, but it's kinda hard to avoid your arrogant hubris when you post so darn much lol As for the "special" features you mentioned earlier, just send a damn email instead lol

What I do here is none of your business anyway, kiddo.

And I've heard of them, most non-business texters, even hardcore ones don't need those features on a day-to-day basis and some of them come with certain stock apps. SMS only function is to send and receive quick short messages and any simple messaging app can handle that simple task, Hangouts just adds to it. You make it sound more complicated than it really is lol Even if Google allegedly removes SMS people will still use it for full Google Voice support (does your app even support it? I doubt it) Hangouts and voip/video calls. Give it a rest dude you're trying way too hard to sound smart, instead you just come off being obnoxiously pretentious not just here but in other threads too.

Ever heard of Scheduled Messaging? Ever heard of Delayed message sending? Ever seen a detailed text timestamp? Ever had to send a pre selected custom message while driving?
Of course not! If someone's most important text message is whether his girlfriend is seeing someone else or not, then Hangouts, something else, all will be same.
Text messaging is a carrier centric thing, Hangouts was never cut out for it, and Google realised it sooner rather than later and stopped it, so kudos to them, so unfortunate that their loyal users are having so much brightness, they shine more than the Sun!
Got your reply sunshine?

What was so different and unique about it that separates it from the rest of the herd? Or did you pick it simply because it's in your old phone and you've been using it for the past three years, if so then what you say is just subjective. And the fact you hinted the stock messaging app is better than Hangouts, which has way more useful features tells me all I need to know.
AnonD-463876, 26 Dec 2015Lol okay what messaging do you use then? This should be fun. The stock Samsung messaging app which came with Note 3, and which is leaps and bounds ahead of the stock AOSP messaging app, let alone Hangouts, which is like I said nothing but a joke in context to text messaging.
ithehappy, 24 Dec 2015It was the Chinese army of messaging apps, that's it. No offence to the Chinese by the way.Lol okay what messaging do you use then? This should be fun.

It was great at handling everything from SMS/MMS, Hangout messages, group chats, voice/video calls, GV# integration, great attachment features, it was like the Swiss army knife of messaging apps.
