cba, 18 Dec 2015user not going to pay royalty or patent. why your getting worried lol.Think first before you comment.
Xiaomi have to pay patent, license etc. that will increase the price. last time i heard, they were sued for patent infringement.
Previously, people dont care about xiaomi because they were just a 'little, unknown' chinese company.
Now they already gain huge popularity, what will happen is more 'patent trolls' will sued them.

Its still seems to be reasonable to buy... By considering the top notch specs the cost is cheaper...

This is good new to apple and samsung. Esp Sammy, no more price cuts to be competitive in the android camp, filled with cheap china droids, now Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi is going premium!

divis200, 17 Dec 2015Wow... you want a new snapdragon 820 phone to be cheaper than the current ones with SD810... 3... morepeople buying samsung and other brands by looking at quality and after sales services but xiaomi devices after sales support is nill, their devices are like some are of good quality and some are of bad quality .so it's not wise decision to buy high end devices from them . just my opinion

They are forgetting that the reason they became popular is the fact that they were cheap... They letting it all go to their head now, and i predict a dip in their sales. But hey good luck ;)

Jarret, 18 Dec 2015Please forget all China's brand smartphones - price is going higher and higher...Agreed now Huawei cost as much as a Samsung, If China phone price close to Korean & Japanese then can forget about it.

I would only consider China brand if there cost half of Samsung /Sony, any higher price I'll rather get Samsung.

MIUI is light years behind TW.

Still cheaper anyway than what other big companies will sell their top phones for. And please, don't say spend 200 more dollars and get Big Brand X - not everyone gets 200 dollars in a heartbeat.

looks like qualcomm went into loss last year because samsung opted out of their flagship chipset. Now they are trying to get samsung use their chips and trying everything possible .. "Samsung exclusive" is just too much.

xeroxxxxxxxxx, 17 Dec 2015xiaomi slowly let ppl forget its a budget brand . Jacking up 10% of the price for each generation .Maybe because it is not anymore, the mi4 with its steel frame was already worth more than they charged you for, this one, if the specs are true should be priced equally to the Samsung and apple flagships
