Using the technical preview right now build 10586.29 on my 630. In many ways its way better than win 8.1. You really miss the features when going back to 8.1.eg. More toggles in the action centre, calculator, alarms n clock, files,groove,edge etc...
Since every one has the ability to get the preview it's not a bad thing that they delayed the update. The previews are pretty smooth now.Still not 8.1 gdr2 smooth but close.

MS delayed the update just for giving their employees holiday break, MS is giving chance their worker for enjoy time with their family than maintaining os update, they would back to work on January

Hahaha this is the reason why microsoft doest make a big profit! I love lumia phones but i decided to moved on and switched to iOS cause this will just going to be a head ache. Better to spend your money on valuable,usable,stable OS guys.

The delay would make sense if feedbacks are actually being considered and implemented . There are still a lot of basic features missing like more useful tiles - change tracks , photos , additional info in tiles , more video codecs , background downloads , google apps like youtube , gmail,chrome (MS and google had an agreement to get along),updates to existing apps on store - its been ages since messenger/viber have been updated,there are no basic music/video players on store and a lots of UI changes like removing empty slot from status bar , playback control , brightness slide , better media scan and a lot more basic features are still missing . The Wp10 to me right now is good , but it makes more changes to UI than the functionality so the delay would only make sense to me if microsoft actually surprises us by addressing all the collected feedback and implementing them in final update

Used W10M preview build 10586.29 on my Lumia 525 worked well. But TBH slightly slower than 8.1. Just installed build 10586.36.
Anyone can install the current build on supported devices. All you have to do is install the app “Windows Insider” and sign in to the program. It will automatically do the rest.

I have a lumia 640xl. So far works nice with 8.1, I did download the wp10 from insider program and it is very laggy. The bad things are Internet Explorer is not near good as chrome or safari, lacks tons of apps.
The good is the simplicity and battery life also.
This new that no wp10 in December it's really disappointing, but what you can do... I'll keep my droids working until I could evaluate the real wp10.

Seriously MS need to give more priority to its mobile platform.
If only Win 10 Mobile released 3 months earlier, to all Lumias worldwide.. I'm tired waiting

This is not first time Microsoft do it.
At first the Windows Phone 7.
After all they promise can goes to Windows Phone 7.5 but end up there is not possible.
When the release of Windows Phone 8 , in the very early stage also promise the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is able and possible to go Windows Phone 8 but after may months waiting, Release the half baked Windows 7.8 where is the answer and end up the life for all the Windows Phone 7.5 .
Mean while, some Windows Phone 8 is stuck there where cannot goes to Windows Phone 8.1 . They only do it for lumia and forgot the other.
With those empty promise , I lose hope to Microsoft Windows Phone .
1) Apps gap is a big no no.
- Always a reason tell is windows phone is still new but its exist already 5 years , where my son is same ages and start to talk and walk and learn.
2) Limited customization.

Come on ppl. Just want to ask how many 2-3years old low and mid range Android phones will ever get Marshmallow update. And to all that want they can install win10 trouw insider program and you get the same release that 950 and 550 are running.

if you would like windows 10 now, just go into the fast ring of the windows insider.... the latest build is really stable. and I would say it is safe to download... :D

Windows systems sucks now I am going to throw this Lumia shit and never going to buy a Lumia again I have shifted from Android and shifting to Android once again

Microsoft should be serious and change their decision of not rolling the windows 10 for old Lumia like my Nokia Lumia 1520. Else they can't break through new ones sales.

Windows 10 on phones is filled with bugs right now as evidenced by the reviews. So they won't be releasing this on older devices soon. I've had about 3 lumia phones before I went back to android. The cameras are great but the OS just didn't cut it for me.
