xTREAMER, 22 Dec 2015but every brand will put the SD820 in theyr's flashgrips...Sammy will put in S7 international,... moreNot true. GS7 in almost all markets will be with its own Exynos 8890 and only some unlucky operators (CDMA) will get Snapdragon.
    - Apple goes with its own SoC
    - Samsung goes with its own SoC
    - Even Huawei goes with its own SoC.
    And...
    - HTC can't develop the CPU by now
    - Xiaomi and Meizu too.
    - And lots of others.

Agree, SD820 is far better than Mediatek. But such big companies like Samsung and Apple design better SoCs and so could do LG.

Martin, 22 Dec 2015and why Samsung copied Apple? or snapdragon or MediaTek ...To be fair, when Samsung started developing its first chip, the hummingbird, apple didn't have their first chip out, it was almost the same date when the galaxy s and the iPhone 4 came out. And at this time, Samsung even had the better soc. This was 5 and a half years ago, so both Samsung and apple are not really new in this game.

Martin, 22 Dec 2015and why Samsung copied Apple? or snapdragon or MediaTek ...The LG G2 just straight out copied many of the features of Samsung. For example multi window, the build material, the camera features and they even made the UI to ressemble Touchwiz but it ended up looking much worse.

AnonD-296885, 22 Dec 2015Don't think SD820 is a very good SoC. It's made for vendors who cannot develop its own.I agree it is like an off the shelf chip you HAVE to use because you cannot develop/design your own chip. Lets hope SD820 is ok Qualcomm must have lost a lot of revenue on the 810 .

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2015Heartwarming with all that competition in all areas of the Android smartphone. There is no rea... moreLG can't make a SoC as good as Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei, or Apple because it can't justify the necessary initial investment. LG currently does not have the volume that these vendors have, and there is no reason to expect much to change. Indeed, flagship sales will decline because everyone that can afford a flagship already has one.

That being said, I fully expect LG to develop its own SoC because the vendors with their own SoC seem to be the only profitable ones. But LG's SoC will be neither as good as nor as expensive as the others. Indeed, the rumored Cortex-A72 core fits this bill nicely, especially if paired with Qualcomm LTE chips.

Since the V12 (or whatever) needs to be the super-premium-plus model, one can safely conclude that it will have a Snapdragon SoC. Since the V12 (or whatever) is billed as a "content creator's" phone, one can safely conclude that it will have a high-end ISP, and the Cortex-A72 doesn't. Thus, the part of this rumor about the V10's successor is bunk.

It's made for vendors who cannot develop its own.but every brand will put the SD820 in theyr's flashgrips...Sammy will put in S7 international, Sony will put it on Z6 and maybe in Z6 Premium and Z6 Ultra, HTC probably will put in some kind of aiple copy crap phone...and LG for sure will put it in at least G5, V10 is build to be better than G5 so will have to get better processor than G5 or equal, and i think Nuclun will score less than my older SD800 device...

If V10 2nd edition have the Nuclum and have the same issues as they older brother so V10 2nd edition will be a market fail again...and LG dont deserve it, LG is the best brand out there, and have to deliver the best again...i love the G3, i have one...and G Flex2 have the SD810 wich everyone complain about overheat, but i dont see overheat anywhere in my device...so LG dont have to listen the market, have to listen theyr costumers!

i do hope they surprise everyone with their results..... a healthy competition between oems will always be in favour of the costumers......
and m sure nuclun will take a year or two before becoming flagship level chipset but lg does have a lot of potential.....
so as long as they dont start thinking of themselves as ultra-premium oem and raise prices blindly......
                            nuclun is most welcome.

The only reason why I havent gone for the V10 is cos of the SD808. I feel that this device requires flagship level chipsets and with the SD810 being a flop, I was expecting the 820 to power this beast. This is a truly pefect device which needs just the SD 820 with rest being in place(probably better battery life!). Please LG dont mess with this device. Its the most unique device in the market. Keep it that way and be aggressive with it. Its a droolworthy device as long as you spec it right.

WOW! A company which fails to assemble a half decent phone is now trying to come up with some chipset. Stunning.
