i think lenovo will be the winning bidder.chinese companies, along with financial support from their government, are willing to pay any amount just to get hold of companies like palm in order to get their technologies.
but for me i think apple might buy palm....
cuz as far as some people know webOS was also develop by apple
HTC would be the likely purchaser of Palm ... They were successful in acquisitioning Dopod in Asia.
If Lenovo should acquire Palm, it would be an additional cost since this is not their field.
If there would be a joint venture on this to save Palm, it would be like the BenQ-Siemens partnership that apparently led to the demisse of Siemens.
HTC do us all a favour and buy Palm! This makes excellent business sense!
xxx , 12 Apr 2010Don't worry apple will be going down that same road too inspit of all the plus sales. remembe... moreI will be waiting for the Feds to print the 1st trillion-dollar bill. Ah, zimbabwe.
Well, if someone wants to get Palm, its because of the patents and that only.
The patents define every touchscreen phone that exists today. Yes that includes the iphone.
"Don't worry apple will be going down that same road too inspit of all the plus sales.
remember general motor was once the world largest auto makers then all of it billions disappeared, the US tax payer had to step in @ bail the then file for bankruptcy, well apple is heading down that road."
Apple will never go down the road of GM. GM was never sucessful with thier cheap american vehicles. Apple on the other hand not only has a hold of the mobile phone market but also the portable music player one. Their main section in computers is also starting to become popular, probably due to their expansion within other markets.
Anonymous, 12 Apr 2010Lenovo are looking for a way into the very lucrative market, and IMO are alot more interested ... moreyea i know, and for some twisted way i'm so happy HTC need those patients cause if they do get Palm they won't just let WebOS die.. their give it the respect it deserves
Let me be the first to start negotioations. Palm, I offer you $3,000, or near offer, for your remaining Palm Pre stock. Get in touch...
Anonymous, 12 Apr 2010GO HTC! What the hell does this Lenovo crap have to do with anything a SuperSonic, HD2, HD... moreLenovo are looking for a way into the very lucrative market, and IMO are alot more interested in WebOS than HTC (who are probably interested in Palm for its huge patent portfolio to fend off Apple)
This is a sad story, a PALM has helped so many people climax, and now we have to look for something else.
