Update while writ... moreThat seems to be correctly configured then! Once the command window opened, did you type in 'adb devices' or did it automatically show 'list of devices attached'? Also, have you gone to the developer options on your mobile and enabled USB debugging?
It's either that (re: debugging not being enabled) or that the latest USB driver isn't installed on your computer, these two links have some suggestions re: the drivers:

Update while writing this post; I tried moving the file named adb and AdbWinApi.lld out from platform tools folder and directly in 15 Second ADB Installer folder. I think it worked. It showed:
* daemon started successfully *
List of devices attached
And then nothing. I had my phone attached to the computer using a USB cable. (it's slowly sucking the energy out from it's superior). Anything else I can try?
AnonD-570858, 22 Aug 2016Hey! Your Moto G wouldn't be listed as Moto G, it'll probably be listed by a device number or ... moreI was just experimenting with random things until something clicked. I didn't write anything though, that was just something that showed up when I dragged it in. I tried just writing in \platform-tools\platform-tools\adb.exe
(the text on top of the window that appears if I click the thing named adb, where I think the thing is)
The text that appeared was: The system cannot find the path specified.
Most things ended up with that or the text showed: '___' could not be recognized as an internal or external command.....
Eventually I tried dragging the file named adb in, and that was what showed up. There's a part of it that said devices with a [-1] beside it. Is there anyway I could work with that? I tried experimenting with it a bit, but no luck.
(-.-;) I don't not sure what I'm doing.

Your Moto G wouldn't be listed as Moto G, it'll probably be listed by a device number or code. Does that mean it's showing the attached devices after giving the command? If so, then one of them is probably your Moto G (or at least should be). If it's not showing any devices attached at all, then there's some issue (again probably with the path. Is it possible that the path is too long. I don't know if that makes a difference, but I downloaded the adb folder on my desktop).
Ah. I just realized there's a screenshot. Are those all pre-command instructions? I can't seem to find the 'adb devices' command. Did you type that? USB debugging should be enabled on the phone when attached to the computer and in the command window "adb devices" should be typed and entered and it should show you a list of attached devices, which would list your Moto G, though by some other name or code.

Did I do it right? I had my phone attached to the computer the whole time. I think my the USB cable works since it charges through the computer. I scrolled down a bit in case I missed it. Should I keep going to step 7 even if I don't see it?

I'm sorry it doesn't seem to be working, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but my guess would be lack of path recognition. Try some of the solutions mentioned in this link and see if they work for you: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20564514/adb-is-not-recognized-as-an-internal-or-external-command-operable-program-or

You need a USB cable from your phone to do this, by the way. Try reading around before posting something, there's probably a good chance your question's been already answered.

I downloaded platform tools into the same folder as the ADB and opened the command window in the same folder. I made sure to restart my laptop after downloading and extracting the files. The message was still 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
What else can I do? Thanks for helping out so much on this page, I'm sure a lot of people appreciate it.
