AnonD-404798, 26 Dec 2015Bro I want to buy a phone for my sister (I don't need something so small)...she doesn't know d... moreDepends on your price range, I have the Z3 Compact and I just bought the Z1 Compact for my wife for less than $250 and I also got a 128GB micro SD card for about $50 so in total less than 300 gives me a fast phone with "retina" display, good camera (not as good as current Samsung flagships) but still very good, 2gb of ram, waterproof, about 130B of storage (final available size), aluminum frame with not-glass back (though it scratches) very stylish.
If you don't mind spending more, then go with the Z3C, Z5C or wait for this Samsung... Touchwiz is currently better than what it was

A) Be... moreLol don't make me laugh... The Alpha is not better than Sony's Compact.
A) practically infinite means 40$ for each spare and I would rather have a multi purpose external power bank. The battery of Compacts has always been better, no way around it.
B) Yes and no. You can turn X Reality on Xperia and colors will look very natural and you can change white balance completely to make it as realistic as you want.
C) maybe but how many casual people actually benefit from this?
D) this has always been the case for the most popular devices but Sony still have great support
E) this is not true at all, the Z3C camera bested the Alpha in almost everything. Go watch BTekt detailed comparison on YouTube.
F) the Alpha has low screen to body ratio, no stereo speakers and no waterproof, I'd say the Sony has better use for its "chin". Z3C has double tap to Wake that makes physical button unnecessary.

G) Z3C has MHL 3.0 that the Alpha totally lacks (no wired TV out option).
H) Z3C has noise cancelling chip for music, and my compatible headphones work like a charm for less than 1/4 the price of Bose Qc20.
I) Dedicated physical 2 stages shutter button. And eyelet for wrist straps make it a better camera phone too, besides point "E)".
J) even in gsmarena comparison http://m.gsmarena.com/iphone_6_vs_galaxy_alpha_vs_xperia_z3c-review-1148.php if you count the "wins" Z3C comes out on top.
The only 2 things I would say the Alpha is better is having fingerprint scanner (even though is swipe based) and soc performance which is something unnoticeable by todays standards...

AnonD-379134, 26 Dec 2015How did they fail? the Oneplus Mini ain't out yetThey failed to fit all that in compact size, the Samsung alpsh aimed at beauty, the one plus aimed at premium feel. The S6 mini, smth in the middle.
But they all have failed to deliver a flagship in compact size.
All those phones did heavy compromises, in battery capacity, camera and cpu, comparing tontheir bigger siblings. Samsung in particular is constantly failing to reduce the size of its phones, they dont have the tech for this...
They are unable to produce a compact flagship, they have a phone for everything but this,
they simply cannot fit high end specs in small frames, they never did and never will have a phone as small and capable as Z5 compact, ever since the era of xperia mini.
They know their strenghts and weaknesses and they dont even try...

Lolguy , 26 Dec 2015Just use custom rom Bro I want to buy a phone for my sister (I don't need something so small)...she doesn't know difference between iOS and Android LOL and she doesn't care but want a small and stylish phone that will work fast with great camera and be able to store tons of photos.... Samsung mini with microSD card support would be perfect..... But touchwiz ruins every Samsung phone as long that shit is there I'm not buying.

I don't understand why they have to cut specs on the mini phones. Not me, but certain people want a flagship in a more compact size, so people who want smaller phones should be given the same experience. Also, if this leak is real, I have NO idea why Samsung are releasing this with Lollipop instead of Marshmallow.... and why is it so late?! the s7 is nearly coming out!!!

I wouldn't have one if someone paid me! This could be a true successor to the Alpha which was, in my opinion, one of the best looking smartphones of 2014.

Even Sony don't put FullHD panels on their compacts. This is a smaller device that's going to be priced a lot cheaper and would run absolutely fine with a 720p panel and a SD808 for instance. The demographic for these kinds of phones usually don't need more than that either.

Didn't you guys seen the Galaxy S4 Mini just released this year? It is a given fact Mini version always arrived a year or two after the flagship. Though, this S6 Mini kinda smaller than we expected. There is an alternative, namely the Galaxy A3(2016) with 4.7" display. Same design too with glass and metal, and come with sd card slot you all loves so much.
