Anyway, here's a more reliable description of Opera Mini proving you wrong that it is indeed for smartphones like the the iphone.
"Opera Mini is a web browser designed primarily for mobile phones, but also for smartphones and personal digital assistants. It uses the Java ME platform and consequently requires that the mobile device be capable of running Java ME applications. Opera Mini is offered free of charge, supported through a partnership between its developer, the Opera Software company, and the search engine company Google"
iphone owners, fyi, opera mini is not opera nor is it opera mobile. Opera is a pc browser, opera mobile is a browser for smartphones, and opera mini is a browser for non smartphones like iphone, s40 and java based phones.
btw you can duplicate the functionality of Skyfire on an iPhone by using any of the large number of RDP Apps that are available to log into a Windows, Mac or Linux PC and running whatever browser you want remotely, you get any site you want including Flash as like Skyfire it's running on a different computer.
An added bonus is you can also use all the other programs such as Microsoft Office etc.
Using Opera on iPhone was my worst experience ever. DELETED in 10 mins.
TC, 14 Apr 2010Opera Mini is not very fast, it first has to download the page to Operas own servers and then ... moreGuess what, Skyfire renders Flash on it's servers.
Here let me repeat that so you understand as you don't seem to get it "Skyfire renders Flash on it's servers".
In other words Skyfire works exactly the same as Opera by processing pages through it's servers except it leaves more of the functionality in.
So regarding Flash, as Flash-Lite is NOT fully functional I.e. It will not access ALL Flash content, almost every Mobile browser on every phone is "useless" as you put it.
There are no current phones shipping with Adobe Mobile Flash 10.1.
Let me repeat "There are no current phones shipping with Adobe Flash Mobile 10.1"
Therefore your obviously hate fuelled rant has zero relevance.
You have failed in a most spectacular fashion.
Anonymous, 13 Apr 2010As they say, iphone always the last to have. You make it seem like Opera Mini is the only web browser on this planet. Just to educate you, iphone users have been browsing the web with safari just fine w/out opera mini. Unlike your Sony device that does not have a web browser of their own, lol.
Opera browser is fascinating fast. Loading webpage is almost twice compared to safari. However, it missed pinch to zoom function, moreover it's identical to safari, which is lack of flash. After use it for a-short-twelve-hour, I prefer safari than opera.
Opera Mini is not very fast, it first has to download the page to Operas own servers and then convert the page to mobile version and then send it to your phone, but any browser is faster than Safari. Browsers that can not handle flash are completly useless. skyfire is still the best mobile browser because it hamdles any format, including flash, with no problem at all, not even HTC Desires browser is handling flash good enough.

To set up a payment system so you can collect the $10 for your App, to pay bank fees for a merchant account?
Then there is the cost of marketing your app, do you think people will just find your site by themselves.
What about pirates and criminals stealing your $10 App and using it to lure people to their Trojan laden site.
See it's not as easy as you seem to think.
30% is a reasonable amount seeing as all you have to do is cash a cheque each month.
hi all i downlode Opera Mini today but is not working all so please can any one advice how it works ,,,,
I have used Opera Mini for years now of both win mob and s60 handsets and now I have downloaded it for my iphone.
People need to release the purpose of Opera Mini, it is to provide a fast, low cost and mobile formatted experience for the web on mobile devices. Opera uses compression tech to rid web pages of a lot of junk and really just displays the images and content, this makes downloading of websites a lot quicker as they become much smaller. This helps out in casse when your network sucks or is using 2g and if you have a limited download allowance as the reduce size of the pages thus positive impact on your bak balnce if your provider provides little download. For its purpose Opera Mini is great.
When at home on Wifi, Safari is king, no download to worry about and a great expereince.
So for what Opera Mini is designed for it is a great product and it's free, I say use them both if the situation warrants it :)

Recently there have been a few apps that claim to do things, but then have small print saying that this isnt true. Silly apps like Phone trackers and Heaters (lol). Plus the app store has quite a few new games that are very similar to old ones.
Androids app store will be going the same way, without a doubt. If the devs refuse to use the tools that Apple recommends, then they are cutting off their noses to spite their own faces.
