My comment does not relate to the screen size of S7 per se. IT has to do more with the itself, as a concept.
My experience with Samsung has been nothing but great. Though I tried almost every other high end Android device over the past 18 months, Samsung has been the one that gave ultra high quality, finish, performance overall and camera - to mention a few.
Samsung is now regarded as a behemoth manufacturer, and as such, it must maintain its momentum. What could the S7 have that would provide that Wow Factor people are expecting to get? Looks alone will not do. The transition from S6 to S7 seems not tp be radical enough design-wise. Performance alone will not do. I, for one, cannot really tell the difference between an octa-core x.x GHz phone and a quad-core y.y phone.
I read that Samsung is considering a new camera, a new music chip and an improved fingerprint sensor. Will that be enough? I doubt it. There needs to be a revolutionary new function and a cosmic software experience that will woo users.
ZTE, Xiaomi, LeTV, Gionee and the more upgrade Huawei have managed to perfect the quality/price combination as well as those little quirks that may dazzle users. I have personally used the ZTE Axon and have nothing but praise for it.
My gut feeling is that Samsung will give an epic S7. Great chip, great camera, almost the same design, possibly the same user experience, and possibly a great performance output including audio.
Will that be enough? I don't think so.
At last a proper high grade 6 inch mobile. Even 5.7 inch Note seems too small now
What about those who wants a compact edge version. Just like the S6 Edge.
samsung all device should have all feature like NFS all sensor and IR...
Finally, this makes a lot more sense rather than releasing similar size phone at 5.2/5.5/5.7in.
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2015same here but with a microsd or forget it ? No sd and say the 64gb model = 10gb operating sys... moreWow, 64Gb isn't enough anymore? I've only managed to use up 17Gb out of ~55Gb of usable storage after 16 months of use on my phone, mostly in photos and useful apps.
I'm kind of a person who finds 5.1 inch screen on his S6 Edge a little bit big. Wish Samsung had come up with Edge with screen size close to 4.7 inch. Now, when they are not planning to launch S6 edge in 5.1 inch screen, I have another reason to stick with S6 Edge next year.
I don't have a problem with 6", I actually own a Note 3 and skipped Note 4 and 5 due to the same 5.7" diagonal. So I am waiting for the S7 or Note 6 to have that increase in display size.
What concerns me at 6" is that Samsung is maintaining the same form factor, bezel and big chunks of waisted space above and below the screen. I need the increase in display size, but I also need the increase in display to body ratio. Something like Huawei Mate 8 (78% ratio) would be nice or maybe more, we're talking about Samsung!
5.1 inch Galaxy S7 will have MicroSD card support. 5.5 inc and 6 inch curved screen models will not have a MicroSD card support.
this is SONY XPERIA portofolio...

AnonD-142922, 29 Dec 20155.5 is bestThe sweet spot, too bad there's no flat option.
Nice phone
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2015Use OTG drive, OTG drive, OTG drive In case you have heard of it, I repeat it here 3 timesNo one cares about an OTG drive on a smartphone, no one, no one, no one, you see what I did there, I said it three times.
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2015So, it is true there will be four model only. S7 vanilla(5.1"), S7 edge(5.5"), S7 vanilla &... morewe might get strawberry(4.7 inch) s7 mini.
5.5 is best
Great. But yes Battery should be at least 3400 mAh for standard and 3700mAh + for other two models along with much much needed support for sd card.
Secondly, 32GB version should be extinguished and only 64GB to be launched as a base model with 128GB could be launched later on.
The biggest loosing points of S6 were battery capacity and no sd card support which must be addressed this time even if they have to make phone a tad thicker, doesnot matter ...
So, it is true there will be four model only. S7 vanilla(5.1"), S7 edge(5.5"), S7 vanilla & edge(6.0").
Not a bad idea to give users choice in every size segment.
Although I would have loved it if there was a smaller version at 4.7" with 1080p screen.
would be nice if the 6inch had IP protection, the only reason i still have my S5 as i play ingress and other gps outdoor games and im often out hwen it rains or snows and i dont have to worry about water damage my phone.. there should be standard on big phones today battery that u can swap, sd card slot and ip protection its only investment because its so easy to get dust and moist and damage a phone today
Noel, 29 Dec 2015Battery capacity will be a Huge selling point. .hence I hope we will see one with 4000+mAh. couldnt agree more.
given that the new galaxy A9, with a 6.0 inch screen has a 4000mah battery, i expect the same for the Galaxy s7+
