Well the Zenfone 2 Laser 6 gives pretty much the same specs (except its 3amp battery) but additionally has Stereo Speakers! It comes for $270 (INR 18000).
So what's Sammy's excuse for asking excess money?

Kinda expensive, but its samsung... huawei mate7 cost£ the same and mate8 even higher (with rubbish nand and optimization)... even though its not a note, I would prefer this to my mate7

That price is much too steep imo. But it will still sell well. Will sell better after a few months when the price drops. Still, 500 is rather ridiculous.

This is ridiculous; $500 for a mid-range phablet when you can get a Note5 for an additional $50; or a state of the art 950XL for an additional $200!!!

In 2013 they could kind of command whatever price they demand for.
Going 2016, that's rather insane.....
