my belief is..... apple is just getting karma... i love the apple devices because their games are AWESOME!!!!!!! but i love android more but at the same time i beleive that apple should have given some type of warning that way they would have been able to back up themselves

When everyone learns to respect other people's choices, the fanboy wars will finally come to an end. They will stop attacking each other, and just use finally their energies for something more constructive.
AnonD-422306, 31 Dec 2015Indeed, each phone has their own target groups, iPhone users are generally ones who like clean... moreThat last sentence says it all. There should be no more such thing objectively best phone (if there ever was) - this is no longer one-size-fits-all society. Long live variety, long live freedom of choice.

So, the question EVERYONE should be asking is not which is better, but which is better for ME.
Anonymous, 31 Dec 2015The keyword here is "yet". Historically, Apple devices have always gotten significantly worse... moreJust to add to that, there isn't a lot incentive for OEMs to support a phone older than two years. Mainly because many people get their phones through a carrier contract, which last up to a couple of years, and will just get a newer phone upon renewal. Once those two years are up, it not much of a sound business decision to support whatever phones are left.

Historically, Apple devices have always gotten significantly worse by the end of their support life. If you can get your hands on test units, let's say iPhone 4 with iOS 4 through 7 and you try them in order, you'll notice a point where the performance takes a hit. Same thing with the 3GS and 4S. I haven't had a chance to play with a bunch of 5's so I'm not commenting on that.
There is a comment below asking "why update it then if it will impact the usability?" -> bragging rights. There is still a LOT of iPhone 4's, 4S' and 5's out there, leaving them out will show a huge difference in adoption rates, which is something Apple cant afford (as it will become rapidly what is happening with Android).
While most people will always bit** about updates not being released for their devices, with the current technology speed, anything above 3 years of updates should be out of the question unless a significant effort is being put in the update, which trust me, no company will do for a device that old, regardless if it's Apple, Samsung, LG or whatever.
So why bother to push out an update that the phone can't handle why not make the version that work stay and just improve on it... At lease u see why a note 3 won't get marshmallow and above....

They are pretty much just as fast as my iPhone 6s when it comes to basic apps. My iPhone 5c even gets better battery life. iPhone 4s is four years old, updates don't really last that long on phones. Those people should just buy a new phone or just stop using iPhones if they are going to complain about it.
Android user, 30 Dec 2015lmao i can't stop laughing, still thinking android is shit? Like really, no ability to cancel ... moreEvery OS has slowdowns, but Android generally improves performance and battery life each major update.
My Note 3's battery life and smoothness improved tremendously going from Android 4.0 to 5.0.
My iPhone 6 lags so bad with iOS 9.x. I have never owned a phone that lags this much. My iPad 3 also lags a lot.
...Man Of Steel..., 31 Dec 2015How it is possible that your iphone 5 is running perfectly and my iphone 6 is just going to he... moreI wouldn't trust what he says. The lagging and stuttering are there and they're blatantly obvious. Apple fans are just lying and denying it.
More people are finally seeing the truth: these are just phones - tools for some job, a means to an end. Don't care whether a person buys it for looks or for for function or even as some god. It's their phone, and their money; don't give a hoot about how they use it.
Snap out of the fanboy mentality people - I don't care if you're with Apple, Samsung, Windows, Android, etc - it's pointless. Like a previous comment mentioned: "all these phone companies just want your hard-earned cash". Stop the war.
lol, 30 Dec 2015Old hardware can't keep up with new software, simple as that. iPhone 5 runs perfectly on iOS 9... moreHow it is possible that your iphone 5 is running perfectly and my iphone 6 is just going to hell after updating to ios 9. 9.2 did not solve any issues tha lag and random freezes are still there and everywhere. The control center is just horrible when pulling it up,i had to reduce transparency to avoid that issue.Pulling down the spotlight search is so laggy and completely turn off the whole system ui animation and i have to restart my iphone to restore it back again.Updates are supposed to help improve issues and performance not creating ones to force users to upgrade.RIP IOS 8.4 :'(
lol, 30 Dec 2015Old hardware can't keep up with new software, simple as that. iPhone 5 runs perfectly on iOS 9... moreYou are not getting the point. Just DONT make the device unusable in the name of an upgrade. You have spent a fortune on a working thing, not a dead piece of metal which it turns into after few years on an intention.
