I've a D855 in the UK and successfully updated my phone using the instructions at http://techtrickz.com/how-to/update-lg-g3-d855-to-android-6-0-marshmallow-manually-via-lg-flash-tool/
I used to get lots of "Unfortunately Settings has stopped" messages, none so far, so looking good :)
