Imo the only real midranger, price-performance wise, was 730/735, 830 was and still is overpriced despite PureView and OIS inclusions. Looks lime they are heading the same way with 650, the same 1Gb of RAM, low range chipset and inflated price.
Looking forwards Nokia's return to the smartphone market, I like WP and dont plan neccessarily to swap it for Android, but if MS keeps on failing to deliver in midrange and Nokia doesnt release Windows phone, then I might make the switch.
That or 4" iPhone, 4" much more pocket friendly than, say, even 4.7.
First greedy elop and nutella both are nothing but an idiots. Instead of improving window phone support and application store they both are killing their ex users by ending supports.
So, nadella stop developing window phone OS and handheld devices business and just focus on Windows 10
At least make your computer os bug free and improve cortana as well.

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2016Thats good - people don't want the Windows monopoly to also extend to the mobile world.I think Anonymous missed the point. The mobile world is just one component of where Microsoft can reach. Whether its a Microsoft phone, an Android tablet, or an iPad, Microsoft wants you to use THEIR services (cloud) and apps to give you a unified experience across all devices and OS. The fact that one person mostly uses a phone, and another uses a desktop PC is not important to the Grand Scheme.
HellO, 04 Jan 2016The Microsoft CEO admits that their phones are a failure...great way to motivate their employe... morethe want other manufacturers to support the OS just like windows desktops or Android. Android is a success because of the hardware effort from Samsung otherwise it was just another geeky OS. like that Microsoft want better devices from some other manufacturers other than itself.
I can agree with Microsft CEO when he says "we would like a world where the device has lesser importance"...ok, so why buying Nokia?
Thats good - people don't want the Windows monopoly to also extend to the mobile world.
he wants to imply that his vision is to make windows mobile the next android.

Stop making phones and try to improve their software Windows Mobile, like Google does with Android
By saying Microsoft cannot even hold a tiny 1,7 % market share, it means they will close down their phone business very soon...RIP.
Nokia should have gone with Android, and not with Microsoft.
windows phones are great to use. I have just acquired lumia 950xl and have htc E9+ as well as Samsung note 5 but lumia is miles apart for a business person.
The Lumia 640 and the 640 XL are the last great windows phones that Microsoft has made. Microsoft finally made a phone that Nokia could not make. It had every feature combined that Nokia would skimp on. It had 1GB of ram, a front facing shooter, and expandable memory up to 128 GB. This was the best Windows phone made ever and now the 950 and 950 XL are trying to make it better. These new phone are not going to do anything for the OS market share. All a person has to do is load Windows 10 preview on a 640 and they have a better phone. The 640 sell for a mere $50 dollars or less locked to ATT and it is better than a phone that is priced as much as a Iphone 6. That is a problem with a light weight OS that is try to fight the Heavy Weights. The 640 was one of the best Handset for the price of 2014. The phone did not even make it in the top 10 for this site. That is a major problem with Microsoft not getting it right with their consumers in the phone game.
Surface Phone is everything, there's no need for other phones when Surface Phone arrives, Wintel will defeat apple again.
It's time to pull out from handset business Mr. Nadella. Don't sacrifice others resources anymore like what you did to Nokia.

You need to really understand what Android is capable of. A WP launcher will instantly transfer your Android phone to WP lookalike & work alike even better. Upgrade your knowledge before saying something stupid.
Windows phones are great. The only issue is application market which is of no peny.
Any social application like facebook twitter and others are worst and not us3able.
personally phone are enough faster and never lags and hangs, but necessary games
and applications that we needed are not exsisting in their market place like imo, wire and others.and i dont know why microsoft engineers and developers dont read the user comments for immediate actions..its seem really funny and i feel like their name is their fame obession keep them in pride and this is why they never listen the users..thanks
Accepting defeat, after killing Nokia,
"aim is to create a world where a device is of lesser importance compared to the services it can access."
The problem they have is there are no apps. There are no apps because few people use the WP. Few people use the WP because there are no apps. I really like the Windows Phone OS and find it truly different than iOS os Android (at least to the user). The live tiles have given it an extra amount of customization that Android didn't have. I don't know if Android ever made anything close to that since its been a few years since I have used an android device. Forced obsolescence though seems better on the Windows Phone over Android. When I had an android, it wasn't long before they no longer supported my phone and I couldn't get the OS updates. Without the OS updates, I couldn't get nes apps. I was forced to get a new phone. I went to Windows Phone, and haven't had that issue. The only issue I have is that app developers either don't make an app for it anymore, or it's half assed. My bank no longer makes a WP app, and the Facebook app is lacking to the mobile website. I like the basic features of the WP OS, but it's difficult to stay when there are no apps. Cortana was a big move for Microsoft, but it's available as an app for Android now, so I dont think that's reason to stay, even if it wasn't a good reason.
It was Nokia who had maintained windows phone os share to 3%-4% and it's Microsoft who had maintained Windows phone os to half of it.I will still say Microsoft should focus more on Services like google and leave hardware division for some other..They are excellent in services..
