The only silly thing here is calling ""spec war"" _what is a valid upgrade.

Leave the others to customize all they wan... moreI don't use iOS because it offers less features than I need from a phone. Android is even worse than iOS. That's why I don't use any of the two anymore.
I've switched to something better 1 year ago and couldn't be happier with my decision. When I now see iOS and Android phones, I just go "heh.." and walk away with a smile on my face. Those operating systems are made for the masses of mediocre people who have little to no technical background and don't understand how things work. Oh well... if that's the best they can do, then that's what they deserve. :)
Anyway, I always find it ridiculous when people complain about their Android phones and then they replace them with new Android phones, thinking that their main problem was the hardware.
At least iOS users don't expect much from their phones and they don't complain when they can't do certain stuff with their phones.

the big limitation of mobile platform was the availability of processing resources and memory. actually Android and other touch platforms needed more memory compared to other devices without touch. when building a great productivity app the biggest constrain was resources. if this trend continues to provide more ram and processing resources. your Android can soon replace desktops. if more devices comes with this type of specs google can upgrade Android to an OS comparable to desktop systems the features like continnum and universal apps will come to windows too

Yeah, that could be something to wait for, especially the Max edition with 6.3" display.
Furthermore, it should have oled display and preferably an active stylus to go with it. It would make me very happy :)

customising your phone is so much more than icon packs. custom launchers unlock so much in quick toggles and gesture recognition,
iOS is really smooth but a nightmare in terms of personalisation. this in terms of speed is not efficient.
each to their own but your arguments are flawed
