People have hundreds of options for phone 4.7, 5, 5.5 inches.
Apple already has iphone 6s on 4.7 inches. So producing another phone on 4.7 in is waste of resources!
The market lacks quality phones below 4.7 inches. Apple will be proved very smart. Many people are waiting for a pocked sized phone. MAny people do not want to carry a portable tv sized device for their phone calls.
Apple is these people's last hope for a small quality device. and i am sure if apple will make the start all others will copy/follow it.

This look absolutely fake. Look like someone 3D print the mini 6s render and take deliberately blurry photos to make a scene. It is horribly made for sure. $500 price bracket? Meanwhile, you can buy phone with better specs than iphone 6s plus for less than $200.
