A72 on Snapdragon 652 is revision 0 clocked at 1.8ghz...geekbench singlecore 1500pts
A72 on Helio x20 is revision 1 (better optimisation...for exemple on A53, there's 15% power différence between rev1 and rev0) clocked up to 2.5ghz...geekbench singlecore about 2100pts (I guess it's 2.2ghz?), 30% higher than Snapdragon 652
I think mediatek can't maintain that power with 4A72, they decide to put only 2 (because they don't want to sell instable soc as Qualcomm 810...they never did!)
Qualcomm Kryo...geekbench singlecore about 2300pts, only 10% higher than x20...due to lack of real lowpower cores, I think pipelines are simplified a little bit to reduce power consumption...as it was on Kraith, good geekbench score but maybe bad javascript and html5 score (compare Kraith to A15 or A17...it reveal weakness with JavaScript and html5)
Wait and see...I think CPU behavior on x20 could ne better than Snapdragon 820 (as mt6752 is far better than Snapdragon 615 with cortex A53)

If the price of mate8 is any indicator,than am hugely dissapointed from the eagerly awaited P9.Those prices are Apple teritory,you can't just make premium body and slap 700€ price on it.

PS its a dirty trick that 32gig model does not include 4gb of ram, there is no reason for it, it costs like 2$. Forcing ppl to pay 100$ more(just like iphone with 16gb storage).

NOT interested anymore.. ... morewith the same main specs number but not the same specs, that means the camera could have the same amount of megapixels but delivers worse images, the body could sook quite similar on the poster but feels cheap in real life, the screen has the same resolution but poor brightness and viewing angles and than there is this software thing...

Agree, bit of a tough sell at that price point. I got my 64gb Mate 8 nearly three weeks ago via AliExpress and it was about 450 euros. Enjoying it a lot though, battery life in particular is awesome.

metal and glass everywhere. consumers buying only premium build as if it'll really matter after 1-2 years when they upgrade again. consumers treat technology as jewelry. it's really strange how the vast majority of buyers prefer premium build over plastic when that translates into paying more.
