BlackBerry is loved by Business people because when kids and teens grown up and taste the real life challenges where there is very little room for entertainment, and life gets really fast then everything changed. More work oriented and less other stuff. And when there is a business, the full, upfront keyboard quickly come on top of everything else and while there are many other brands, BlackBerry is sort of Iconic.
Plus, the women like to keep it easy and I think for that reason this form is also highly used by women.

I dont use my 9700 for business! and after having the Iphone 3G and the HTC HD2 I love this phone, it's perfect for chatting and msg and talking and email. Love it.

I don't know why RIM is such a big success.
Yes, for business people a BlackBerry is perfect. But for the mainstream? I really don't understand how they got the mainstream to think that BlackBerry is for them. I myself have had a Bold, but after using it for a few months, I knew RIM had fooled me.
BlackBerry = BUSINESS.
If you are not a businessman, why would you not choose an iPhone or Android device? They offer a much better gaming, multimedia and social experience.
