actually if you take a look at the source, its from the miui forum, theres a lowlight photo omitted by gsmarena. Assuming that all these photos are really straight from the Redmi 3, I'd say its really good definitely a far cry upgrade from the Redmi 2 and Mi 3. Its up there with Redmi 1S except this is a 13mp

I have tried Redmi 1S, Redmi 2 and Mi 3. In order. Redmi 1S completely crushes the other two in terms of image quality. Infact the camera or better yet image sensors on the Redmi 2 and Mi 3 were a joke. Its really bad in poor lighting where it generates heavy noise. Redmi 1S on the other hand was okay in poor lighting but really good in close object picture. Yeah I definitely felt the abnormal heating in Redmi 1S,one of the main reason I sold it
I hope they changed it in Redmi 3.
I agree with the comment saying we should wait for the review first as most of these pics are outdoor, need some indooe pics to really show "its true colors"

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2016those pictures aren't natural looking at all... don't get carried away To be honest, I highly prefer good-looking pictures over natural-looking pictures. You don't see natural-looking pictures anywhere on the web, except the quick snaps on social networks.

for a 100$ phone, i'd say these are very good.
but again almost all phones do good in natural outdoor light so we'll hav to wait to see some indoor photos before judging.

Latest builds of MIUI - Developer or Stable - take photos with great noise and lack detail. I mean, it is visible, and you do not need to zoom it. It is there. Is the Redmi 3 build of MIUI better, or improved? I hope so. I tested on a Redmi 1S and Mi4, and saw samples of the Mi4i, Mi4c, amongst others. Xiaomi has a horrible track of solving problems. The worse experiences were on the Redmi 1S and Mi4i, where they: launched, sold Millions and only after four to seven months they solved the majority of the problems, but leave some others. Namely heat, bad photos, poor performance, etc... Now it seems that upgrades on Android are never to be found and the bootloaders will not be unlocked, which is essential to flash a custom build of MIUI to have our native language on our phones. Xiaomi is failing on its promise of helping its fan sites and its Mi fans, among other promises, like English support on TVs and routers.
