NEVER! Only a kid with no brains would buy one. And not everybody has 600 euros to pay for a high end one, that is also, not that great! Even a midrage android is a crapp. Looking at aqua m4 and the midrage Samsungs that flood the market with crapp. Let's be honnest and stop talking nonsense and praising the nothing android is. Their are 3 systems on the market and each and everyone has bad and good. And nope, wp is not the worst. Is quite a good stable system even on very low hardware. And apps, well ,apps don't make all the experience on a device. First use, then comment;).

Duh !! It is obvious that tablets ( bulky media consumption devices with not much productivity quotient) are expected to be sold less than mobile phones ( the thing that we need and carry around with us everyday and the one which is a must ). Therefore the market criteria for success of these two devices is also separate ( a Toyota may sell 10X more in numbers than an Audi ,but this will not guarantee that the Toyota car is successfull or Audi , a failure).
The fact that a W10M sales are comparable with the sales of tablets is in itself a statement which highlight the shoddy market share of Windows phone.

Honestly, Microsoft. You've lost your momentum, I am already tired of waiting an update for Windows 10 Mobile, in the verge of migrating to other OS seeing there are many local apps that is needed and there is little chance for it to be available on W10M. This "socks" but seeing there is rarely update is just irritating.

The HTC 8X was one of the most stunning feel good handsets when it came out. Visually beautiful and right size. I recall wanting an android version of that beauty. Well we got that and more with the A9. Couldn't be happier

Pity really but it does come across that way sometimes.

Don't worry guys Microsoft is working on it.
They are working on a way to update these kind of issues through a method similar to how they update PC's.
A Windows Mobile Updater will be needed to be installed and download the latest W10M to devices capable of running it.
Microsoft wants bring W10M broadest number devices as possible.

Not everyone can afford by an iOS device and not everyone is stupid to give huge amounts of money without considering pros and cons.
This problem is with HTC not W10M

But I wonder if there is any... moreOld Lumias like the 920 and 925 will get Windows 10 (Same specs as the 8X).. Now it probably won't run great but consumers have the option.. This is just HTC being lazy and saving money on paying people to make sure a build of Windows 10 works good on the 8X.. Losing customers who will never get HTC again because they don't provide updates..

If longevity is not guaranteed, why bother with Windows Phone? Might as well get Android with its richer ecosystem.

There is no excuse since the hardware is more than capable.
This is why Windows Phone is the worst platform. Poor ecosystem, no longevity, and now Microsoft is trying to charge more premium for their Lumia phones.
If there's no certainty of support, might as well get Android. More selections, some are cheaper, and worst come to worst, the OS is open that there are custom ROMs. Plus the ecosystem is richer.
If I want to pay premium and certainty, might as well get the iPhone with richer ecosystem. My iPhone 5 from 2012 is running iOS 9.2 fairly smoothly.
There's really no simple reason to opt for Windows Phone even if you are 100% in Microsoft ecosystem. All Microsoft apps including office are available on other platforms as well.

You can still buy a iPhone 4S - but you can't update it to the latest version of iOS. Oh..yes you can update it..but it renders the phone totally unusable. But hey... it's Apple...

Yup, HTC failed once again like every other time. 3yr old lumia 520 which was a low end device is going to get win 10.

I have a Lumia 720 running Windows 10 Preview flawlessly, and it's just a Snapdragon S4 Dual core 1Ghz with 512MB RAM!!!
