"Why would Apple want to use AMOLED in future iPhones?"

Amoled's now are still unperfect and have lots of issues although they getting better. This is probably the reason why Apple will jump on to this technology in 2 years not earlier. The other thing is, at this point there is no one on the planet to even supply Apple with the quantities they require and 2nd. Samsung will have almot 2 years to perfect technology and the process. With Apple quality standards, Samsung will need to push hard to fulfill the contract but it should all pay off. Thanks to this AMOLEDS might finaly get really good.

Previous generations AMOLED suffered from Burn in (I'm talking about Origi Galaxy S) but then after they have improved a lot. And now it has much advantage over LCD panels. And one of the most accurate displays on Mobiles are of AMOLEDs only. So sensible Apple is making a good decision and soon u will see other OEMs using AMOLEDs too.
