My guess would be it's a tease for updates to HydrogenOS and OxygenOS (which have been a LONG time coming - I switched away from CyanogenOS because I thought its updates were too slow haha). Together the elements make water which you definitely can't live without.
Plus I believe they've previously said an update would be coming in the new year, here's hoping for marshmallow-y goodness
