Rugged smartphone is built for people that work in heavy industry like construction, engineering, geologist, and such. That make up less than 1% of the total market.

They provide heavy machineries but innovate on other devices so that their worker can bring in their smartphones and stuff to the site. They even make watches, laptops, bags, walkie talkie and a lot of other stuff. Google "Caterpillar Inc" and you can find them.
