divis200, 17 Jan 2016When will people realize that smartwatches are even more overpriced than phones... Slow proces... moreI believe what it boils down to is that the manufacturers are putting a high price on these for two reasons:
1. To provide a profit cushion with poorly projected sales. The higher the profit margin, the more sustainable the product is, even if sales tank. You might ask why a company would want to bother with something that they know will tank; It's because they still want to break into this smartwatch market to establish a name when it takes off.
2. Higher price tags can be seen as a higher quality product. You yourself said they have cheap specs. But to consumers, often times you will see them associate price with value and this is exactly what Samsung is betting on. And it works. Look at all the people who say Apple products are their preferred choice simply based on price.

that app is just a bloatware, i dont see the reason why samsung still include it.

Whatever, just another overpriced gadget... with the technology we have today, it's easy to assemble a smartwatch for a really low price... and then they come and sell it at triple (if not more) of the price it should have.

When will people realize that smartwatches are even more overpriced than phones... Slow processor, low-res display and small battery. Of course, this is not a phone, but everything with current technology is easy to fit in that and the cost of producing this is much lower than the selling price. It's cheap enough to cut hundred dollars from price...
